I do not mind the fact that fangirls/boys use Japanese sentences in his or her average day conversation (most of the time badly pronounced aswell). In fact I started out as an amateur aswell, I didn’t know any Japanese except for the sentences I learned from anime and Japanese Drama’s.
But the difference between me and them is that I grew up in a Traditional Asian Family, so I do have a certain amount of respect for Japan and the Japanese culture.
Now i’m sure most of you are wondering what the hell i’m talking about, so i’ll get to the point now i’m done with my beforehand speech.
Nowadays your typical anime fangirls (I’ll use this from now on to address boys and girls) are just disrespectful towards the whole Asian Culture. Now I don’t know how the rest of the world handles it, but from what i experienced here in Holland, I can’t say otherwise that these fangirls actually view Anime and Manga as the true way that Japan is.
2 Years ago, I started my job in a Sushibar located at the busiest trainstation of Holland.
At the time I myself could also be called a fanboy, yet to my own surprise I found out I wasn’t one (atleast a small case of animetardism) At first it started out wonderfully, I went to my job everytime full of hope and joy, worked my heart out and met interesting people. Now what I haven’t told you yet is that at the time the Sushibar attracted more and more fangirls everyday.
So I was overjoyed as I hardly met others with similar interests as me.
Now, the more I spoke to them, the more I realised how childish and “underdeveloped” they are. I’m not saying they are dumb (sry most of them are) they just unknowingly surpresses their own potential in life due to their obsessive behaviour towards anime.
Day in day out I heard the same voices, the same sentences I normally only want to hear when I watch anime, the same unintellectual conversations, it amazes me how much they can talk about the same crap everytime again. And when it finally reached the point that even I can get irritated, I stood up and asked the girls to leave the store if all they were doing was talking about their delusions while only ordering 1 cup of freaking coke. Only to get insulted by them, but could you blame me?
They took up space other PAYING customers could use, they had a delusional image of the Japanese culture, they insulted actual Japanese who were visiting our sushibar by saying “Omae wa Nihonjin Deshou? Sugoi-ttebayo!”, Atleast google up some of those words and you might find out that anime Japanese is actually some disrespectful shit!
Then they critize my Japanese just because I didn’t know what Dojikko meant at the time.
This is just a small example of what I experienced, I could go on and one, but frankly, I have a life and a job I need to go to later on, so I do not wish to waste my time any further by talking about fangirls, behind their backs nonetheless. So I’ll just finish up with my top 5 annoying fangirl traits I encountered.
1.They use anime sentences in there daily life without knowing what the **** they mean.
2.They actually think their delusional view of Japan is true
3.They insult others when he or she haven’t seen/do not love the anime they like
4.They use honourifics like –Chan or –San wrongly, like addressing themselves with them -_-‘ (if you don’t know why that is a bad thing, I’m sorry you have a case of animetardism)
5.They are ****ing up the image of anime/manga fans, so that other people think i’m the mother****ing same as them fangirls just because i watch/read anime/manga
There i’ve done it, proof that I am capable of thinking bad of others. How do you like them apples Selo
