(MYFOX NATIONAL) - A Korean man has found love in the material world.
Lee Jin-gyu's object of attraction is his 'dakimakura,' a large, huggable pillow from Japan that often has a picture of a popular anime character printed on one side. The UK Metro reports that his pillow has a picture of Fate Testarossa from the 'magical girl' anime series "Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha."
The 28-year-old man loves it so much he married it at a special ceremony, adorning it in a wedding dress for the service held in front of a local priest. The local media captured the event.




A friend told Metro that Jin-gyu takes his pillow out to eat at restaurants where it gets its own seat and meal. The couple also visits amusement parks together.


The story refers to Jin-gyu as an 'otaku,' a Japanese term that loosely translates to something between 'obsessive' and 'nerd.'
In an episode of the TV show "30 Rock" guest star James Franco plays himself trying to sqaush rumors about his love for a Japanese body pillow named Komiko .


According to The New York Times , there is a thriving subculture of men and women in Japan who indulge in real relationships with imaginary characters.


Another unusual marriage took place between a Japanese otaku and his virtual girlfriend Nene Anegasaki, a character in the Nintendo DS game Love Plus, in November.


According to a MyFox report , a Japanese man known as Sal9000 married Anegasaki in a real ceremony held in Guam. A reception was held in Japan.


Love Plus is a player to take out the virtual girl on dates, buy her gifts and make her happy like he would in real life. The player tries to earn their love.


Being a winner means finding a companion for life.

I'd say that the pillow should not get half his assets should they divorce. After all, even though the pillow is contributing a lot to this relationship, it's done nothing to earn remuneration in the eyes of the law. However, should such a tragic occurrence come about, the husband must provide a liveable payment on a monthly basis suitable to support the needs of the pillow and any cushions that result from the union. The pillow does have means to support itself, I shouldn't wonder, but it would be bolstered a monthly allowance and the knowledge it doesn't need to go back to its previous employment as a fluffer in the hentai industry.
