Swedish romance film.

SPOILERS
To begin with, what I particularly enjoyed was that even though the two main characters arnet even teenagers, and even though the girl is a vampire; you seem to see past all that and the focus is on Love.

I'll be honest, I welled up alot throughout that movie when I didn't at "grave of the fireflies", which goes to show how emotionally connected you become with the characters. The bits they did best here were when Eli encourage Oskar to stand up for himself against the bullies and failed to the point where she killed them for him.

The awkwardness between the two presented by the mid shots of them appart on two were simple and yet very effective cinematography work, enhanced by the first time you see the two sit next to each other on the table.

Seeing Eli seldom kill a person for their blood was heart breaking, she didn't want to do it but she knew she had too to survive, the conflict was astounding. It was interesting seeing her manipulate the old man into doing her bidding as it shows she is cold hearted and an all-round evil character, this in contrast to her emotions towards Oskar is simply the director saying "She wants to be human".

The thing with this is that it beats Twilight, but will never be rememberd. Hell I hate Twilight with a burning passion and it dissapoints me that people have seen that film and havent seen this one. Where this beats Twilight hands-down is the Vampires glisten in sunlight of Twilight as opposed to the Vampires burn the house down of LDRKI

Have you seen the film?
