  1. Chelios back in the game!

    the venerable Chris Chelios, stalwart of the Blackhawks and Red Wings, has been called up by his latest team, Atlanta, for another stab at the NHL.

    The Chicago native, who has played in more games than any other American-born NHL player, last played in the NHL last May with the Detroit Red Wings against the Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference finals.

    He's 48.

    Amazing to see he's still considered good enough for a go at the big league, though ...

  2. oh smurfin' hell...

    It seems like there's nothing Hollywood won't remake, and they show no signs of stopping.

    I read on IMDB today about the possibility (it's in the pipeline as we speak) of a Smurfs live action movie! Well, I say live action. I daresay a hefty amount of CGI will be employed to surround "token human".

    I was going to mention this yesterday but I forgot so I'll just do a quick entry here. My club is currently #1 in the Argentina standings:



    Yup I'm an Independiente supporter, I am totally stoked by this. I mean there's still a lot left in the Clausura and a lot could happen before the season ends but this is still exciting, in my time as a fan I don't think I've ever seen them on top. Hang on to it, guys!

    In my blog on Tuesday I mentioned that a couple of high profile hits had made headlines in the NHL, coming as they did just before the GM meetings to discuss, among other things, how to deal with headshots.
