Wow Toradora is getting pretty heavy. I have become so swept away in the show's characters and plot without even really realizing it. I only have 3 episodes left to go, I am stoked to see what happens!
But who wants to hear me rattle on about a year old anime? You come to antmanbee for the facts, the hard news, and I'm prepared to give them to you. I've decided to start a fancy new music segment in my blog. The formula is simple:
1. I listen to a new highly buzzed, hyped, or talked about album on lala
2. I give you the lowdown in the form of a few clumsily strung together sentences.
3. I post a song or two that I liked from said album
4. Everyone wins! (except, spoiler alert, the Nazis)
So here goes nothing! Today's newfangled buzzed album is Ali and Toumani by Ali Farka Touré and Toumani Diabaté. I'm gonna come right out and admit I don't know much about the music of Africa. I've heard of both of these guys before, but this is the first time I've actually heard any music by either of them. But holy moley, can these guys ever play! They jam together so well, the interplay between their instruments is so soulful and real. I was rocking out while hearing this, doesn't matter what continent you're from or what style of music you're playing, good band chemistry always sounds good. 9/10 from me.
Ali unfortunately passed in 2006, but he left a TON of recorded work behind (including another album with Toumani), so I've got a lot left to explore.
And just in case you did come here to read my rattlings about year old anime, even though I love Minorin deeply I want Ryuuji to end up with Taiga. I really hope that's how it works out, they are a truly perfect pair. <3
