    OK, now that was something. I know I've posted already today, but that was queued up in advance I'm giddy ahead of the Olympic hockey semi-finals tonight. After Canada's women showed the guys how it's done in winning gold in one of the closest, no I think in fact the closest match of the Games so far against the US (exception maybe of Finland/China), Canada hope to regain some of their pride by reaching the final on Sunday.

    Canada's men got their Olympic ice hockey campaign back on track with a crushing win over Germany to set up an enticing quarter-final against Russia. Now admittedly this may have been on the same scale as Tuesday's Man United/West Ham meeting, which ended in the same sort of crushing victory for the home side. It was that one-sided.

    The hosts recovered from their humbling at the hands of the US with an 8-2 play-off win over Germany at the Canada Hockey Place.
