In my time following hockey, it's sometimes been a struggle for me to catch games. Over here, the odd channel's carried some games infrequently over the past ten years or so, but best of all a few have shown prolonged bouts of support for the game. Channel Five's strongest asset ten years ago for me was their hockey coverage, which tailed off when Mark Smith left, but was always a laugh when Todd Macklin was commenting Now its on ESPN and I get to see Hockey Night in Canada, which is the way sports should be shown: by passionate people who live and love their job

Buffalo are doing pretty well again this year in the NHL. They've not had such a strong year since the Hasek period, in my view, and their push this year is built on the back of some strong goaltending by the outstanding Ryan Miller, who's on course for a career year. 5 shutouts already and a hefty save percentage of .931

Of course, I thought of typing this up a few days ago and the Sabres have since lost three straight. I do hope this wasn't my fault

basketball is netball for boys. It's a non-contact sport, isn't it? Hockey has a lot more going for it, in my view. At least you get to see plays developing, rather than "shoot score pass shoot score pass shoot score" in basketfail. No team game that involves scores routinely getting into three figures is worth watching :/
