Thread: sayo's New Friend

This is my first official Fanfic, not just some random RP story.


Aisaka Sayo sat in the classroom, as she did every night. She simply stared at the wall this time though, retreated into her deep chasm of thought. Over the years she had perfected everything she loved to do. She had watched the trends and fads and innovations. She had witnessed the brutal power of the nuclear weapon, and the gentle sound of falling rain. She figured nothing could suprise her anymore.

Then she noticed the girl.

It was 22:58. Nobody comes at this time unless the school festival is here, and that is still months away...

The girl had short white hair, and seemed to drift into the room. The girl stopped when she saw Sayo nd first went to call out, but stopped.

Sayo floated towards her, and wispered softly, "you can't see me can you?"

The girl nodded, and Sayo saw the lifeless eyes the girl had. the girl then responded.

"My name is Rhys. what is yours yurei-chan?"she said

"I- I- Aisaka Sayo 1940 class 2-A" she said with a ghost bow.

"Hello Sayo chan! since we both understand each other, we should be friends!" Rhys said in an uncomfortably perky tone, as her face didn't change expressions.

"O- Ok." sayo responded, and rhys took her by the hand and led her out of the room.

Rhys led her outside, and to the edge of school grounds where there was a small field, in the moonlight was seen a young couple, whom Sayo recognized as Ako and another unfamiliar boy.

Somehow this gives a really gentle and serene start, but it's a bit short. Though it doesn't have to be a bad thing I'd like to see somewhat longer chapters. Other then that not much to say about it just yet. I'll be looking forward to the next chapters.

If I do have to nit pick though... Two things I noticed at first glance

The first is obviously just a typo and the second, well you just have to know that it should be either 'Yuurei' or 'Yūrei'. Since I don't know how to make the 'ū' without much trouble I always use the double 'u' (or add a u in cases like bokutou which could also be written as bokutō).

But that's nit picking. Keep up the good work.

(i put the to be continued on ther cuz i found myself falling asleep typing it out, i will continue now.)

"See them over there?" rhys asked sayo

"Yes...that's Ako from 2-A...w- why are we here? What did you want to show me?" Sayo responded to the girl.

The girl simply turned her head, and was gone. Sayo looked arnud, but then looked atthe couple, sitting on the bench, ako leaning on the boy. She remembered a time when there was a boy in her life, and remembered the bench. this was a popular meeting place for lovers between the boys and girls schools.

She was just far enough away that she couldn't hear what was being said, but noticed Ako suddenly sit up, and put a scowl towards the boy. Then the boy stood. He said something to Ako, and waited for a reply. Ako's faced seemed one of shock, eyes wide.

Then it seemed the whole scene stopped, as a darkness fell over the boy. It was clear to Sayo that Ako couldn't see the darkness, and it didn't affect the boy outwardly, however, Sayo could see it clawing into The boy, and understood. It was a Hate seeker, a darkness that devours a person until all they have is hate.

The boy walked away, the darkness following him. Suddenly Rhys stood next to Sayo once again.

"the fun begins tomorrow" she said.

"Fun? What fun?" Sayo asked, "That hate seeker will kill this boy!"

"How? Hate seekers only take away what stands in people's way, they reveal to them their true nature" The girl said in the perky tone she used before.

"No Hate seekers will only hurt the person they latch onto, make them hate everything, and eventually..." Sayo began to cry, "They'll lose themselves and die!"

"If you don't see it as fun then i can't play with you anymore" Rhys said.

Sayo turned and rushed over to Ako. Sayo knew that regardless of what was said Ako was one of the few people who could save the boy. Sayo just needed to figure out how.

Hate seekers are attracted to hateful thoughts, and are repelled by happy or lovely thoughts, or so the stories said. Sayo knew they weren't just stories, they were fact.

Sayo sat on the bench, and concentrated long and hard, Ako sat there crying for more than 10 minutes before Sayo finally figured she had formed in the real world enough to try to speak.

The semi translucent and very pale ghost said, " Hey Ako what's the matter?"

Ako's head popped out of her hands and looked around, and then was startled to see Sayo there.

"Who are- Wait a minute, your that One girl who always skips class arent you?" Ako said.

Sayo chuckled. "No i haven't missed a day, you see," she put her hand through ako's, " Now you see why i'm not in class. But first, The boy you were with, where did he go?"

Ako simply stared at Sayo. She went to faint and Sayo grabbed her and pulled her back to consciousness.

"Ako listen to me. Time is short for that boy and if you like him you will listen to what i have to say" Sayo said sternly.

"Ok Yuurei chan. I am Listening. just please don't haunt me!" she said quivering, as sayo's hand was in her forehead.

"Good. Then listen well. A hate seeker has latched onto him, and it will soon be very dangerous to be within 40 kilometres of the boy. The only way to save him now is for you to be happy around him or show him genuine affection and love."

"But Hate seekers are old wives' tales..." Ako started to say

" They are not. I could show you myself. but we have not the time. I need you to do this and do not fail, for you may die if he cracks. I will follow him closely and fight the Hate seeker to give you more time, but... i'm already dead, there's nothing they can do to me."

Ako got up and ran after the boy.

Sayo followed her for a moment, and noticed Rhys standing in the way. She could tell Ako saw her, because she stopped. Rhys was crying, and ako bent to see what was wrong, but suddenly was flying backward, through Sayo into some taller grass.

"His Soul will be mine!" Rhys screamed in an unearthly voice, as her body began to swell.

Ako screamed, and Sayo ducked as a tentacle that used to be an arm swiped at her. Sayo grabbed on on the recoil, and was pulled toward the monstrosity, as it was obviously not a human. She focused her mind, and the creature reeled, as Sayo's spirit was benign, and it was a malevolent creature, the spirit waves repelled each other.

She continued to push at the creature, and the rei by her head began to spin rapidly, until it looked like an ethereal halo, and Sayo's determined visage lit by the ethereal light locked, and her eyes slowly opened, glowing soft green instead of red. The creature began to shrink back to it's human form, and tried to run away, but sayo's hand grabbed the back of her shirt. the rei still spun, and sayo's free hand turned the creature around, to look her in the eyes. the face was emotion filled now, as though it wasn't rhys, but it spoke.

"You will not save him, your dead already!" it said as sayo moved her hand up to the rei orbiting her head which had slowed a bit.

She grasped one, and forced it into the creature's forehead, and the body jerked, and went limp. The maelevolent spirit passed from the body, and and the girl was left hanging in midair. sayo placed the body down gently, and noticed how simaler the body's features were to hers.

Ako walked up a few moments after the aura of power fell from Sayo. hse placed a hand where Sayo's shoulder was, and realising she was a spirit, went to pull it back.

"I can feel it." sayo said.

Ako smiled and placed her hand where she had planned, and Sayo rose through it.

Sayo moved forward, and her tail touched the still warm body, and got stuck. Suddenly Sayo found herself on the ground. Ako, looked frantric, and was yelling, "Sayo where are you?"

"I'm right here" sayo said before thinking. Ako's head jerked down at her.

"Your not.....In her are you?" Ako said.

Sayo suddenly realised. The body was still alive without a spirit, and it had sucked her in. She was alive again! But what would that mean for the current situation? She couldn't fight the Hate seeker!

"We have to find that boy now or it'll be too late, we killed the master but the seeker will not just go away. But do not dispair, i will be able to help you." sayo said, getting up. She stumbled a bit, but soon had full control, and her and ako were running down the sidewalk.

"Listen Ako. You must forget all of what just happened. remember that he is your boyfriend or brother or cousin or whatever he is and keep the good memories you share on the forefront of your mind. if he is your boyfriend it uncomplicates the matter a bit....what exactly is he to you?"

"He- he's my boyfriend." ako said.

"Good, then the simplest way to free him is to fill his mind with amorous or lustful thoughts." sayo trailed off as Ako turned red, "I understand your trepidation, but this is necisary. What do you have on?"

Ako stopped and presented herself.

Sayo looked herself over to see if there was anything of use, and found bra padding, apparently this girl had self confidence issues, no matter, they would work.

Sayo took them out and pulled ako aside.

Before long Ako appeared two years older, an with some modifications to her dress, looked rather beautiful. Taking great care to keep her hidden, Sayo in her newfound body walked up the stairs to the room ako had identified, and rapped on the door. placing Ako in front of it.

"when he answers the door, do what we rehearse, i've liberated this body's grip on me slightly and i'll be able to fight the creature, but please, do not fail, do not waiver. We both have a stake in this now." she said before letting the girl's body slump away to the floor behind the door.

She still felt the body pulling at her, but fought it as the boy opened the door and addressed the Seductivly posing Ako.

Sayo saw the hate eater pull several of it's tendrils from inside the boy, and touched them, one by one shriveling them up. This happened for a few minutes, as the boy invited Ako in, and soon there were three tendrils left.

They did not release, so Sayo began to communicate to Ako the urgency.

Ako Tripped, and with a crash, the two ended up on the floor, in an embrace surrouned by coffee table glass. One of the tendrils isconnected, and Sayo touched it quickly, the beast letting out a primal screech, and the other two tendrils began to pulse. Sayo didn't have time to get Ako to push further, so she simply possessed her.

Ako woke up to water dripping on her forehead. She was half naked, mostly due to rips and tears to her clothing and her boyfriend laid next to her, fully clothed thank god. She got up and saw Sayo sitting in her borrowed body, the body now completely naked, but a solemn look on her face.

"Sayo...What happened?" she asked with genuine concern.

"he attacked you. I had to take the brunt of the unleashe primal desires lest something terrible happen." sayo sai on the virge of tears.

Ako was horrified.

"He's fine now. The beast triggered a reflex that sent eveerything it had stolen from him back at once. when he wakes up though the coffee table might make him angry. Tell him it was my fault......do you have something i could wear?" sayo said in a monotone.

"Are you sure?" Ako said.

"yes. but we should head back to the dorms before night breaks." sayo said as she got up and began walking out

The Thunder rolled in the sky telling of a distant storm approaching. Sayo arrived at the dorm with Ako just before the sun rose.

Later that day, When Ako didn't appear in class, Negi was concerned. He Went to Ako's room and knocked.

At The same time the Newspaper office began printing a Story of how a girl had died, and the headline read:

LOCAL GRAVE ROBBED, BODY TAKEN.

Ako opened the door. She invited Negi in, and at first he didn't notice Sayo sitting there, but then he did.

"Sayo Aisaka, Your from my Class aren't you?" He asked

"Well yes, i've always been in 2-A since i can remember." She said.

"I don't remember ever seeing you come to class, have you been ill?"

Ako Piped up.

"She's dead Negi."

Silence peirced the room and lingered for many minutes. Negi recited a simple incantation, and as the final word was spoken, The Lightning crashed. The body Sayo had been inhabiting slumped to the floor, and sayo floated there, in plain view.

"i have been dead for 60 years" Sayo began to explain.

"no need to explain. all you need to do is go back into the body there." Negi said, then waited for her to comply, adding, you may yet be able to return to the world of the living....would you like that?" he said.

"Oh yes i would, you don't know how lonely it is being around people but never speaking to them."

"Then follow me to my room."

Negi led her to The room he shared with Asuna, and after a small tyrade about him bringing people home, she calmed when she recognised what was happening.

Negi drew a magic circle around the girl whom had been stripped to underwear, and laid out in the center of the room. he knelt over her. pricking her in various spots to inscribe runes in blood on her.

"There is no turning back from here. If you want me to stop. say it now." negi said with all seriousness.

"no"

Negi chanted a short chant and placed his hand over her heart. magical energy flowed into her and lit up the body. he extended his staff toward the window, and called to the storm. lightning flowed down the staff into him and to the girl. it permeated the inside of her, until her underclothes literally burned off, for a moment, she was intense light on the ground.

the light died down, and as people's eyes began to adjust to the normal spectrum, Sayo aisaka lay on the ground. Negi fell over tired, his head landed on her chest, and a heartbeat was heard for the first time in 60 years.

Sayo Aisaka Had been ressurected.
