While I agree with what you say about the ridiculous rise in Negi's powers. I do not think this will turn into, what was that term you used. Where the main character takes on increasingly difficult foes.
While I have watched my share of anime. I am rather new to manga.
Negi's story, or something like it, might have been repeated or copied from other manga/anime. However I am new to it and think Negima is a great storyline.
