Look in the Shinobu Brigade and HKSS subforums. There are old threads about projects. Take a look and see which ones you could volunteer for.
For now, the Shinobu Quiz is the easist and recommended way to get boosted. Once you make sergeant, you can't take the quiz for promotions anymore.
