Love Hina Desktop Accessories!

AND IT'S UP!
http://www.trixfiles.co.uk/homemovies/tfm2005/LHDA.rar

I've now downloaded the file myself and extracted the ISO successfully, so it's not corrupt. If you download it and it's corrupted, then the corruption has happened when you downloaded it, rather than being a problem with the file itself. If this happens, try using a download manager like Getright, or download Firefox!, which has never corrupted a file for me.

So, start downloading! And remember, PM me for the password to the archive.

I'm uploading it now. The ISO is 230 meg, but I've managed to compress it down to 130 meg with various options.

To extract the RAR you will need:
A moderately new version of WinRAR - I highly doubt any other compression program will be able to read this RAR file, even if it does support RAR files.
The archive password. I've encrypted and passworded the RAR file (Because I don't want random people finding this site and wasting the bandwidth of the RAR. Getting the password is easy - Just PM me. But if someone that's just signed up and has 0 posts tries to get the password, I'll assume that they signed up just for it and won't send them it). So, just PM me and I'll PM you the password.

To mount the ISO you will need:
I'd recommend the Virtual Clonedrive just for ease of use.
Download and install that.
Then, once you've extracted the ISO from the RAR, just double click the ISO and it will automatically mount to your new Virtual Drive (You'll have a new drive if you look in "My Computer"). It should autorun.
The ISO will work fine with Daemon Tools, the Alcohol virtual drive program, etc, if you already have those.

To use the actual application...
Well. It's... difficult. The applications have the Japanese text stored in a deprecated means. (It's what Win95/98 used to store them I believe). This means that when you run any of the applications, any text written by a font (rather than being part of a graphic) won't even appear Japanese - It will appear as total random crap, totally incomprehensible. This makes interpreting the program hard.
Oddly though, the filenames of *some* of the files are fine - They appear as Japanese characters. But the file names of the programs are random crap.

If that wasn't bad enough, for me, on Windows XP, the setup process for the program doesn't actually *work*. It asks for a missing file. I spent a while searching and found it in a CAB on the CD, only for it to ask for another missing file that I couldn't find. So I'll explain how *I* managed to get the programs working without an install procedure.

Finally, find all the .scr files (A list being:
LH_‘fŽqŽa‚éI.scr (Icon = Motoko, the one where the top of her head is missing)
LH_‚¨•—˜C‚Ì*ª.scr (Icon = Keitaro with a towel on his head)
LH_‚ނ‚݂Ƃ©‚ß.scr (Icon = Mitsumi)
LH_ƒJƒIƒ‰.scr (Icon = Su facing left)
LH_ƒnƒbƒLƒ“ƒOƒJƒIƒ‰.scr (Icon = Su facing forwards wearing some crazy thing over her eyes)
LH_Ž×–‚ŽÒƒJƒIƒ‰.scr (Icon = Naru facing right, doing some work)

Select all 8, and copy or cut them, and then paste them to C:Windows (Or C:WINNT for you crazy users of Windows 2000)
Then, if you go to the screensavers tab on your Desktop Properties, you'll find all the screensavers there.
WARNING - For me, at least, when I move my mouse to exit the screensaver, there's a windows beep and the screensaver freezes but doesn't close. If you get this, just push spacebar or enter/return and the screensaver should close. It's an error because the screensaver is designed for Windows 95, and it's looking for the Windows 95 password.cpl file so that it can check if you need a password to exit the screensaver, but Windows XP doesn't have password checking - Either it goes to your desktop or it goes to the logon prompt).

For me, this meant that I had:

C:LH, the contents of which were all the files from LOVEHINA.CAB, and 8 folders (the 8 on the root of the CD).

That's it. You should be able to run the programs now.
The programs are as follows:
LH_bathclock.exe - A clock, with graphical animations of a random Hinata girl in the bath. If you click "T/A":
The box in the top left is an alarm. If you check the checkbox, then you will be able to choose the time and AM/PM.
The box below that with 5 checkboxes is for which Hinata girls you want it to be possible to display. The five are Naru, Motoko, Shinobu, Su and Kitsune
LH_calc.exe - The Naru calculator.
LH_calender.exe - A calender. You're supposed to be able to leave notes on certain days, but I get a runtime error when I do it (to leave a note, doubleclick the date you want to leave a message on and a window will appear with a textbox to put it in).
LH_cdplayer.exe - A CD player.
LH_clotheclock.exe - The other clock, outside one of the rooms. There can be one or two girls here, it's random. The T/A button does the same as the bathclock.
LH_fortune.exe - Doesn't work for me.
LH_luncher.exe - A launcher. The five little grey boxes can each have a program in. To add a program:
Double click one of the blank grey boxes. Then, in the "File name:" slot put "*.*" (with or without the quotes, it doesn't matter). The *.* is because by default all the application will run is .BAT files, but you'll want to run .EXE files if you're like me.
Once you've done that, just browse to the EXE file and select it. You can then click the icon that has appeared in the box to run the program.
Each hinata girl has 5 unique boxes (meaning that if you put a program in Naru's first box, then it won't be there for any of the other girls unless you select it for them too). Obviously, to switch between Hinata Girls, use the buttons. For those that don't speak Japanese, they are, in order:
なる = Naru
素子 = Motoko
みつね = Mitsune
しのぶ = Shinobu
カオラ = Kaora (Kaolla)
たま = Tama
LH_mascot.exe - Doesn't work for me.
LH_minigame.exe - Doesn't work for me.
LH_wpchanger.exe - A wallpaper changer. You can figure out how to use it, I'm sure.

I think that's everything. If anyone has any questions, just ask. I'll edit this post (in about 2 hours 15 minutes) with the URL to the RAR file.
