Hmm... true ESPN does lack in credit-giving somewhat.
That's also true Duncan isn't Dunc-an.....XP....but that's what makes him more interesting I think. He SHOOTS and BANKS the ball off the glass! How many players AT ALL make those shots or at little TRY them. I only see Dncan shoot those awesome banks, so I think it redeems him.
However, the Spurs aren't dirty. The Spurs are the #1 defense for a reason and anybody who complains *cough* Stoudamire*cough* is a shallow crybaby. Bowen is the League's best defender. Why? because he gets upclose and in your face when you have the ball without fouling, or at least trying not to foul. If the Spurs were dirty then we would've seen more of what Horry did to Nash or anything Dennis Rodman did with the Spurs and Bulls. Are we physical? At times yes. Is it dirty? Hells NO! It's part of the game! People complain of excitement (no offense RT) and yet they whine when they see the Spurs get physical?! Sorry folks but all this whining of the Spurs being a dirty team is a steaming pile of crap from crybabies.
PS: I DO find it tragic that the Spurs/Suns series went down the way it did. I truly do. SA didn't like it and sure as hell Phoenix didn't like it. Here's how I figure David Stern's reason as to why he HAD to suspend Stoudamire and Diaw. If he didn't suspend them, then the league would be under the suspicion of favoritism and conspiracy. If the bench-leaving rule WASN'T a rule, then they wouldn't have been suspended. Stern HAD to suspend them, or else GM's and owners and MILLIONS of NBA fans would be offended and angry at the favoritism that would've taken place. Textbook rule. It's sad and a real *****, but it had to be done.
