Rarely is there a case where the supporting character would overtake the main character in a manga or anime.
the only time this happen which I know of is in Tenchi Muyo.
Ryuko was suppose to be one of the main character but the poll turns out Sasami having the highest vote. And of course she later get to have her own anime serie. lol
