First the puppy love at first sight thing just didn't really do it for me. The renton constant I'll protect you but nothing happens, then the OMGAWD he all of a sudden develop skillz in piloting was total bull. Also you think he would realize obviously you're killing people, I mean who else is piloting the robots of the military? 10,000 years into the future and you guys decide to come back to Earth where it was dangerous? I mean in those 10,000 years of their new home they must have survived on some good planet, so what was the point of moving back to somewhere that almost wiped out your whole existence? I also guess the "love can defeat anything" theme was corny and overused. Also I guess I didn't like Renton cuz I hate whiny kids who aren't funny and are complete fools. Where did the Nirvash come from again I forgot. Why could it talk(prob refering to the last question as well)? Weapons of mass destruction are always left in the hands of kids...yeah that is just brilliant. The thing is though I enjoyed this series a lot more than most. Ok to be honest I guess this series wasn't all that bad. It had some disliking moments but I guess it isn't as bad as most other animes I have seen before. So maybe out of a grade of 10 it would get maybe a 7.5? I guess you can say I would rather have a more realistic approach to things at most times. Idk i guess my likings are kind of random at most times. Like have any of you guys read Bitter Virgin? I mean i didn't even think I'd be interested by that story but I'm actually quite hooked. It like develops a true negative aspect of people's lives into just one small story. Also the sudden connection of love only because of lil known dark yet sad secret. It is mroe of a what humans would do on a serious note. It kind of makes me wonder what I would do in a situation like that. Idk if I'm being clear or not but give it a go and see if you get what I mean.

yeah but that makes it less entertaining when some boy is the key to saving the world, we got tons of that kind of storyline out there. Most of them are written better. It just isn't cool for some loser to become the hero of the world. Also if you didn't understand realism doesn't have to play. Giant robots and interspecies mingling is fine with me. World apocalype, ok, mad ruler, alright that's cool, etc. A loner who joins in this adventure to save the world is just not catchy anymore. He falls in love with the chick who has no idea what she's doing. They together save the world without puttting much effort. He can somehow pilot much better than military personal who have trained for years maybe. I mean I would like to see a growth of betterment instead of NOSKILLZFORSHIT to OMGAWDZIPWNZUZNEWBZ. There wasn't a real development in his struggles, it was some kind of weaksauced shiet. Maybe learning the world around him accounted for soemthing and gave him good experience, but that does not make you a better pilot. His development into a man or person was not a real moment to behold. I mean I ahve seen better. |

Children often do things without fully realizing what it is their doing (Such as the example of killing people until they see them up close) I mean, especially with mech type things. You think ha-ha, kill, everyone's happy. But you don't take the time to think about the things you've done, or that their was an actual person in their whom has ideas/dreams/goals like you
![]() Of course, also the fact that alot of anime has done the whole ZOMG I can PILOT NOW!!! Alot of cases of this ^^ Losers saving the world? Subliminal messaging If you wanted more realism which really isn't the focus of alot of these things, then I'd say you'd have a better shot with Gundam or Macross-type things ![]()

I can't say too much about Code Geass without spoiling a good portion of its underlying plot. The mechs are called Knightmares though (and are only 5 meters tall on average-not big on mecha scale), and are involved in the battles. But the true fun of this mech series is the strategy behind all of them. The political intrigue is what appealed most to me though, especially with good character developments. And also, subs rule, dub will not be able to compete even if it's good.

It's got excellent ratings on ANN, does Code Geass, but somehow it just doesn't appeal to me. I might pick it up when the second series has finished.
Also, if you hate 'whiny kid' characters, why on earth do you watch the dubs? The always make them 100 times worse than they were in the original.

Why? Because I'm lazy and i just want to watch tv on my comfortable bed then go to my computer. If it's somethign I really like, then I watch the original Jap version. Other than that, if my heart is not in it then I won't even bother rushing to finish it. I'm ok with watching 1 episode a week. |
