Plot Summary: In this alternate retelling of Neon Genesis Evangelion everything is different. Shinji and Asuka have grown up together as childhood friends, Rei is the new kid at school, Misato is their teacher, NERV is just beginning to assemble teenagers for their experiments, and the second impact never happened. The story proceeds as a romance rather than an action series, with love triangles a-plenty.

What do you think about this new series?

This also brings up the age old question: Is Shinji better of with Asuka or Rei?
The way I see it, Asuka is abisive and Rei is incestrious.

Hmmm.... there can only be one way to resolve this issue.

I think he would be better with Asuka because there's more emotions there, where with Rei, it's flat and I don't see her making any moves
Besides I think the series could have used more romance with the kids other than the crush Asuka had...

*late in finding this* I have the first volume of this that I picked up from a book fair. I only like the art style, not the story, but maybe that's because I'm too used to it. Plus romance doesn't do too much for me.

and there is a newer series out. i think its called Gatenkou Evangelion, or nearby.
still Shinji and co. but no 40 meter tall Evangelions, no real angels. only a weapon called EVA and a angel core that can travel from human to human
