Trigun fanfic, "Lost Piece"
Yes, Trigun fanfic.. Dunno if there are any typos and the formatting is probably terrible, but it is 3:00 AM right now... Anyway, whenever I post part of this fanfic, I'm going to post a Trigun logo, and an image of the fanfic title.. I spent the past few days rewatching Trigun. I forgot how cool it was.
![]() Anyway, here we go. ------------------------------------------------------------- *** May City *** "Whew.. Why is it so hot out today?" Raikune grumbled to humself as he tended to his crop. A heatwave was moving through the area and unfortunately May City was being hit the hardest. The townsfolk didn't have an abundant source of water so times were currently tough. "I hope this damned heatwave is going to be followed by a monsoon." Raikune moaned as he wiped his forehead with his hankerchief. As he walked to his deck to sit down and drink from his thermos, he spotted something laying outside of town in a small heap. Raikune held his hand above his eyes and squinted, trying to get a good look at what he was looking at. "Is it a person?" Raikune gasped and turned to see his wife standing on the front steps. He wasn't sure when she had come outside.. "I don't know, looks more like a bunch of garbage." Raikune sighed.. But he knew that it could very well be a person. The temperature was getting to many people, especially those on the road. He started to sit down to drink his water when his wife touched his shoulder. "Please dear.. If it is someone laying out there, I would hate to see them suffer." After a moment of holding his thermos to his lips but not taking a drink, Raikune set it back down and groaned. "Alright, Vera.. I know how you feel about people who suffer.." Raikune pulled himself to his feet with a loud grunt and started to walk out to whatever was laying just outside of town. Cray raised his trembling arm up and drew a circle around the sun with his finger. "You've done enough up there.." He choked as he slowly clenched his fist. The sound of his leather glove sounded disgusting. It sounded more like ripping flesh than bending leather. Slowly, his surroundings darkened and the sun didn't feel quite so hot anymore. "Is this what death feels like... ?" He coughed. "No, you don't seem very dead to me." Cray shifted his head back and looked up at a middle aged man wearing dirty overalls. He was rubbing his scruffy beard as he peered down at Cray. "And who might you be?" The stranger asked. His voice was deep and rough... Like that of a labourer. "My name? Is that what you always ask dying men?!" Cray blurted out humorously. "I should be asking for your name, oh divine savior!" "My name is Raikune. I live.. Here.. In May City." Cray's eyes widened and he quickly sat up. "May City?! Wow.. I must have walked further than I thought!" Raikune crossed his arms and shook his head. "So you've been on the road for a while then?" Cray smiled as he held his arms out. "Yes sir, this long!" "You can't measure time with your arms." Raikune said flatly as he pulled Cray to his feet. All Cray could do in response was chuckle softly and rub the back of his head. Raikune sat in his yard chair watching his mysterious guest gulp down what seemed like galloons of water. He slowly looked him up and down examining him. Jet black spiky hair, long blue trenchcoat, black leather gloves, and brown boots.. He certainly was an unusual looking fellow. "Oi! I'm hungry too!" His guest called out as he started waving his arms madly through the air. His voice reminded Raikune of a young child.. Not an innocent young child, but the slow, noisy child. "Speak to my wife, she made muffins this morning. She'll give you a few." "MUFFINS!?" The mysterious guest leaped up from where he sat on the deck and hopped inside. "Hey! Scruffy man's wife?" Raikune groaned and put his head into the palm of his hand. *** Jeneorarock *** "Ruth!" The sheriff of Jeneorarock, Dee Gray, came running into the bar. Ruth set down his martini and glanced at the sheriff. "Any leads?" He asked impatiently. Dee gave Ruth the ol' two thumbs up. "Vash the Stampede.. We're not sure where he is.. But we have a description that matches Cray the Hurricane!" Ruth looked at his martini and back at Dee. "Cray the Hurricane.. ? Haven't heard much about that lowlife since The Humanoid Typhoon obliterated Augusta.. Three years ago." Dee put his hands into his pocket and started tapping his foot. "Bounty hunter Ruth Loose.. Are you still interested in Cray the Hurricane? .. The Merciless Storm?" Ruth snorted and took a drink. After savouring the taste for a moment, he turned to Dee again. "Of course I still want Cray.. The reward on his head may not be anything like the reward on Vash's.. But he is still a very attractive target!" Ruth paused for a moment and thought back a few years to his first and only encounter with Vash the Stampede and the bumbling ox Descrates whom he had mistaken for Vash. That had been in Dankin, a town that had been accidently destroyed by Ruth himself and his explosives.. "Vash the Stampede.. I still have a personal vendetta with you!" Ruth hissed. He looked back to that day outside of Dankin.. Vash was a clutz with no apparent fighting skills.. He had even tried to sneak past Ruth pretending to be one of Descrates' henchmen who needed to take a leak.. "The bounty on his head.." Ruth whispered to himself. "How can an idiot like him have such a large reward!?" Dee apparently overheard Ruth as he bent down to be closer to Ruth. "He destroyed July and Augusta by himself." Ruth shook his head. "I will never believe it. You can enjoy being one of the many morons who believes that Vash is responsible for all the destruction he is said to have caused.. But I will never believe it myself." Ruth stood up and slung his rifle over his shoulder. Grenades were resting on his belt, a machete hung from his waist, and he wore studded copper bracers.. "Ruth." Dee held his arm in front of Ruth before he could take a step. "You still haven't told me what that gun is you carry.." Ruth put a finger to his wide moustache and smiled. "Something far too illegal to even possess.. But I don't think that you would take it away from me now, would you.. Dee.. ?" Dee lowered his arm and exchanged glances with Ruth one more time before watching the bounty hunter leave the bar. The bartender spotted Ruth leaving and slammed his fist down on the counter. "Hey! You didn't pay for your martini! You cheap bastard, get back here!" He hollered. A large vein appeared on his head as he clenched his teeth. Dee turned to the bartender and pointed a finger at him. "Just forget it.. He's not the type that you want to provoke." They both turned and watched Ruth Loose walking away slowly. End of Scene 1 "Lost Piece" Next Scene, "Storm Over May City" |
