If you set the restriction, make it 5 seconds. That should be enough.

testing testing. what's the exactly message that you recieved? I read somewhere that the shoutbox could cause this... when we had the old shoutbox we had this problem?

I'm not getting any errors when posting... what I get is the forum just hanging for a while as if the server's busy, and when the page takes me back to the thread I see I've got a double
 Although this doesn't happen every time. Sometimes it hangs for ages and I only get a single post. Other times it'll whiz through and post a single

 . When it has happened to me, it usually takes about 30+ seconds to process a post

Okay, lemme explain.
This happens when someone uses the Quick Reply function. They post their reply but it takes a while, then when it should have posted (which it actually does) it takes us over the main posting page. It claims that we have posted something within the past 40 or so seconds, and people click on post reply (again) which leads to the second post.

Hmm, seems its not fixed yet. I just got one of those "This post is a duplicate you made in the last something minutes/second", if i were a mod of that forum, it would've gone through
 EDIT: Incidentally, i got that same message with this post
