Points: a short breakdown
little known facts about the points system
Following on from BobCat's decision to withdraw a lot of his post content from animeb, the question's come up again that people don't know how points may be accrued  A lot of it's supposed to stay a mystery  But here's a roughish breakdown of how you get points attributed to you The fun ones, anyway  1000 points for getting a trophy in the arcade (Playing a game costs 5 points a time too  )50 points for a referral (You also get points if your referees post and do other stuff profit profit profit!) 100 points when you first register, so you are on your way to buying, say... 100 points for your birthday, if you've set it 100 points for adding a profile picture, but have 150 points removed if you delete the piccie. O.o 5 points for creating a poll 1 point for each reputation received 1 point per poll vote (vote Suu-chan! You know it makes sense! ) 1 point for rating a thread 1 point for someone looking at your profile page And the usual info, found in the bottom left of every post and thread page: Points Per Thread View: 1.00 Points Per Thread: 15.00 Points Per Reply: 5.00 The decimal parts come from when people read your posts. I think you get fractions of points every time someone reads a post of yours. You also get .001 points for each character you type huge posts get more points than "WTFZOMGLULZ". That said, BBCode and whitespace do not count towards your character points count. Long-standing peepl (folk who've been here a year or more) get an 8% discount on vBplaza purchases as well  Bank interest on your points adds to your total too, 2% increase in banked points every two days. Oh, and thieving is definitely not guaranteed to work It may work 35% of the time you try to use it. But it ain't half fun when it backfires Last edited by hinarei; 29 Sep 2008 at 3:19 am.. Yes, there's a couple of other things I left out, but they're of no importance or don't apply to our implementation of this on the board. long-standing peepl be those who've been here over a year And of course... I am totally impartial when it comes to administrative matters It's why I promote Naru fans alongside me "keep your enemies closer", no? Oh, and I'm open to doing a little run-through like this for anyone who's confused about a function of the forum

Heh... If everyone were smart and kept their points in the bank... There'd be nothing to pilfer.
Anyway, absolute win on the thread, Hina-dono~! You've finally cleared up some of my little mysteries... Like why do I seem to get 'random' amounts of points per post... And why I got points for editing threads. (For the Character Count. Win~! Makes my long posts worth something. =P) Now I just need to con people into joining through me... So that I can have even MORE points being gathered by minions~! MWAHAHAHA~!!!! ...not that I even do anything WITH them... ...maybe I could find a way to get the LSers to join through my refferal... There seem to be lots of them... I could bank~!

He has a hard enough time answering in the first place, so the effort that would go into lying is already used up The thievery percentage can be altered tho', just be aware Ish fun when it backfires Thanks for your comments, Ryo I didn't manage to get everything in there, but, wouldn't you know it, trying to leave some things with a little mystique about them around here doesn't work now the Eyebrow is back with us I'll edit the first post and include the other bits that've come up |
