I owe you all yet another apology! In my eternal wisdom, I forgot to post the new infraction system that we set up months ago in the news section. Well, let's put a stop to that.

The system that the moderators use - and they have no discrepancy on this, that happy power only belongs to the admins - is as follows:


Minor spamming (including) - 1 point
Nonsense posts outside HFF
Necroposting
Double-posting
Continually requesting modship
Multiple offences - 3 points

Oversized signature - 1 point
Multiple offences - 3 points

Excessive swearing - 2 points
Multiple offences - 3 points

Ill treatment of members (including) - 3 points
Flaming
Harassment
Baiting
Multiple offences - 6 points

Major spamming (including) - 4 points
Advertising
Off-topic in SSF
Persistent repetition

Impersonating another member - 5 points

Discrimination (including) - 6 points
Racism
Sexism
Attacks on a member's beliefs

Rebelling against authority of staff - 9 points

Multiple accounts (main account) - 5 points
Multiple accounts (2nd account) - 10 points - no expiry

Pornography- 10 points - 1 month

Circumventing a prior ban- 10 points - 12 months

Linkspamming - 10 points - no expiry


Where the expiry time of an infraction isn't mentioned, it is equivalent to its amount of points. Ie 1 point = 1 month, 5 points = 5 months, etc.

This is the system we use. It's fixed, and we rarely deviate from it. Feel free to criticize it, but please make sure you take in into consideration when criticizing our decisions to infract people, and when making appeals.

Yeh... I'd sort of been infracting away for the past few months, safe in the knowledge that everyone knows the crimes, and everyone knows the punishments.

So is there any leeway or discretion here? I generally go out of my way to avoid causing any kind of trouble, but we all flub up on something once in a while. I just hope that if I or anyone else makes an error with no ill will behind it, that there is some room for warning the person before slapping them with points. In other words, if I goof something up, please TELL me, because I don't go around doing asinine things on purpose.

It all sounds so legalistic, and that saddens me just a bit for things to be this way, though I understand why. For a long while, the level of rudeness was all but off the charts around here. I hope this fixes it, and I also sincerely hope that things like courtesy and common sense can make a comeback, so we can focus on more important things. Like Motoko in a bikini

they'll warn you before they infrackt and they try to avoid it as far as i know

If it's your first rulebreak, we tend to talk to you first If not, you'll get the deserved infraction, but only in its warning form if the same rule is broken again, you get the points for it. -_-

We can apply a heavy infraction straight off if we deem the offence serious enough though

Sorry, Amm. It may well sound overly legalese and stuff, but this is so everyone knows where they stand on certain common things that come up We've been working to these infractions for quite a while, just had forgotten to post 'em

And yes. Motoko in a bikini is far more important

My attitudes regarding this issue are almost identical with those presented by Ammaranth.

Except that the more important thing, in reality, would be something like Mutsumi or Kanako in a mon-, whoops, a bikini.
