I made mine. Just scanned a manga page in and cut out a particular bit in Paint.

Its not too hard. Failing that, find a pic you like, resize it so it fits within the boundaries of avatar sizes, and you're set!

What I think is that the resolution is fine as it is, but maybe a "Link to an off-site avatar" option would be useful, as that way it can be any size and it doesn't have to be uploaded to the server.

hmm. good point. Then this server may have less load on it.

Many other forums have this option, and I have my avatar on my site server anyway, so it wouldn't be a bad suggestion...
