Yoosh.
I'd like to have the following rule as well. 8) Give all ideas a fair amount of processing time. Think about them. Hear the arguments for them AND against them. Ideas CAN be refined and made better. |

Ah yes, a very good point BobCat >.> I can't believe I forgot that one.
Anyway. Go for it peoples! (Remember though, I'm watching you... keep to the rules. I'm really serious about the thread, and I'm not afraid to enforce the rules. But I won't do so unfairly. Follow the rules as set, and there shouldn't be a problem anyway ^^)

I wholeheartedly agree that this thread is a good idea. We've needed something like this for a while, anyway.
At the moment, I don't really see any immediate problems. If I observe anything, I'll make mention of it here.

How about this:
FIX THE REPORT POST FUNCTION. Currently it sends an e-mail to the affected moderators. Since many mods are AWOL or do not check their e-mail AND nobody actually receives any notification whatsoever, it makes the staff appear non responsive to member concerns. REPORT POST should send 1) a PM to the moderators involved and 2) have something in the ModCP which allows for processing of reported posts by higher ups if that mod does not respond. The "send email" function part should be dead. |

||||
|
I can most certainly agree with that one actually. We do need a working Report Post button for members and mods to use in order to catch the attention of those mods that are involved with that specific thread.
Mods will need to be active of course, and members should remember that each of us Mods lives in one part of the world, and we each live quite spread out from each other, being affected by different time zones. In otherwords, we all live in different areas of the world ^^ So your day time may be their sleep time. Members should not be frustrated when something isn't done absolutely immediately. If the mods were to be members who lived in the same time zone, we'd have problems in all of their forums when they sleep :3 I just thought I would get that in, but yes, we do need a proper working Report Post button.

Attacking. No attacking.
Rules modified to prohibit spam. Now please, stop spamming in here -.- Agree with the rules in silence, don't post your agreement. The rules are there to be followed. It doesn't matter if you don't agree with them. If you don't agree with them, don't post, if you do, save your posts for the actual discussions please.

Were here to discuss problems, not solutions kc..
Anyhow, I'll just bring up a concern of mine that I believe I mentioned before, but it got lost pretty quickly among a lot of posts. I'm concerned with issues and people who know each other from other forums and then bring it here it to Animeb. What brought this to my attention were some members from the Mahora Academy. It's just not fair to Animeb, to bring along issues from other forums and outwage them here. This is not something that is a huge problem right now, but I'm concerned it's going to be.

what happens on other boards should stay on other boards. We're only concerned with what's happening on here, yes?
![]() Sure, there can be mentions and gatherings and such, but continually badmouthing other places such as MA and hinalove (only bringing those up cos it's happened before, I'm not looking for a slanging match) isn't a great idea ![]() I don't know what to do to "fix" the report post feature. As far as I'm aware it's functioning perfectly as designed. As Ty said, if this doesn't reach a mod quick enough for your liking, it's usually down to timezones. In that case, PM a gmod or admin or another mod for that forum; spread the word ![]() |

Suggestion: Drop the hinalove definition of spam, where almost anything is now declared "spam"
Examples: Moderator positions Moderator positions What's with the hidin'? Basically speaking, spam has been defined as "I don't like your opinion" so moderators will just say the "S" word (spam) in order to silence people. It is a shame many of those who escaped from hinalove and came here have forgotten how bad it really was. This was one of the issues there. No wonder people are leaving this place in droves and not bothering to even post a going away message. They're afraid of being accused of spamming. AnimeB always has had threads which went off topic to side discussions. The proper procedure is NOT to try to silence people, but to SPLIT THE THREAD into the original discussion and the side discussion. Last edited by BobCat; 28 Aug 2007 at 8:44 am.. |

Yes but only the mods who run a forum can split threads in that forum, correct? So, if the mods aren't online and the conversation continues, it gets very difficult for them to split it
It's all about mindset, neh?
