Petition to get rid of the SSF

The ssf isn't a viable place to discuss anymore.
It was never necessary in the first place. It was created as a way for bobcat to avoid an issue.
Too few people are allowed in SSF, and the discussions don't get to take place because of it.
If you **** up and go off the handle in a discussion, you deserve to be infracted, we dont' need a special board just to hold your ****ing hand.

its rather easy to get SSF acess all one needs to do so show that you are capable of being rational and mature thus I see no problem with having a selection process for the SSF. As I would rather have a decent discussion with a few people than a incoherent rant with many people.

As Flashman stated, it's quite easy. Show decent manners, rational behaviour and the abillity to have a mature discussion and you're in.

That's why not everybody can access it, not everybody wishes such strickt rules. Neither do some mind though. It is a place where you can discuss something without the chance it get's mutalated by spammers and off-topic comments.

I defenitly see no harm in the SSF, I like it there as much as I enjoy the HFF. Unfortunatly I haven't been in either of them for a while.

It's inactive, and was indeed only created by BC because he didn't like serious talk interrupting him when he was saying 'myuu'. Elitist and stupid - with good moderation over Chit Chat, it shouldn't be a problem.

If I remember correctly there was a thread called BOC that had just about the same purpose. I think that those who are upset about the SSF are just against BC. I see no reason to remove the SSF, because no-body wants to remove the Anti-gaia brigade, so I think it is fair that if those guys have their gang, why not let the SSf have theirs Hmm?

I think the SSF should stay as it is, however it would be nice if the process of being allowed was a bit faster

No. They come from some who are anything but serious. Stable people, you see, make good intelligent conversation and debates. Unstable ones tend to spam the forums, and we risk having that happen to the SSF.

But if you want to remove it, go ahead - BC will be happy

Actually that would not be true.

I want SSF gone AND serious stuff banned from animeB.

As the riot clearly shows, there are those who cannot handle serious discussions and will hurt those who disagree with them, to the detriment of the board.

It is better to keep such discussions out of this forum for not everyone has the maturity to handle the discussions.

Yes, the issue was that serious discussions had this nasty pattern of turning into battles and flamewars.

American flags vs communist flags (where KC and company fought with Silver and company)
USA vs other countries (KC and company vs america haters)
pro-abortion vs anti-abortion (SSF topic where I was targetted for punishment for defending the wrong side)

and now we got the various language groups trying to promote their respective supremecies (and raising the red flag of racism)

The SSF was created as a compromise, but that was a bad decision, and a failure I openly admitted for a long time now. The correct thing to do is to ban politics, religion and other downer topics from here.

But KC won't go for that. He wants to have the flag wars again, and start more provocative topics, causing members to hate each other. This is the big reason why he hasn't been approved for SSF access. I'm not approved for SSF access due to my non-PC opinions.

Whoever doesn't like the SFF, won't have access for it. That way, how can it bother somebody?
