Definitely Asuna! xP Even Konoka and Setsuna are probably closer to Negi than Nodoka is... Of course you don't always end up with the girl you're closest with...

Don't push yourself too much nodokalover.You can't really put your own opinion and beliefs on other people specially if they already believe on their own reasons.Just say your own thought and it's up to them if they would accept or not.I even post my own opinion here Negi's future wife but of course many still disagree.Just stay cool and respect others own beliefs so they would respect your own.
Well let's put that aside and let's go back in the real topic.I'm not really sure where and when nodoka's love for negi started.I'm just sure that 1 year after negi arrives, she's already in love to negi and almost all in 3-a is already aware of her feelings for him. Have you notice this scene in the opening theme of the anime version?

Negi's reaction change on every students when they kiss him but all of his reaction just repeat on another girl except his reaction on nodoka.He only got totally blush when nodoka tried to kiss him compared on the other girls.I really notice this when i first seen the anime opening. I'm not imposing anything on anyone, ya know... If what i wanted was to see my opinion in the top of a big podium, then I wouldn't have created this thread in the first place now, would I?
What we're doing here is called a debate, in which something is presented as the topic, and the different participants offer their arguments relating that argument, which will then of course be contested by the others who will put forward their own opinions. In the end, we'll probably come up with something better than either your or my initial opinion!  Leaving that behind, that's a nice find you got there! When i first started going into the anime, i also tried to see what his reactions were with each of the girls...and, of course, he and Nodoka made the best pair! Of course, you have to consider that the anime's already over, and that only the manga will bring future answers as to who'll end up with who. Try to gather some "clues" in the manga itself as well!

Clues? Almost all of Nodoka's appearances in manga is always about negi in ROMANTIC way. That's why i began my doubt that asuna would be negi's love interest even she is a main character.I'm not sure but i guess ken intended to make asuna to be negi love interest but change his mind later.Why i think that? Since asuna is a main character, it's only natural that she have something special.So ken gave her the magic cancel ability and the fusion of ki and magic. He can just say she is a daugther of a mage that have been cared by the principal when her parents died or something like that.Still he choose to link her in the crimson wing and the mahora war where nagi is only 15 yrs old.He even put them in a sibling like relationship where asuna give negi a bath and let negi sleep beside her like a little brother. Negi already tried to think if he have feelings for asuna twice in the manga but it didn't turns out like that.Nodoka is the one who comes out in negi's mind.I even notice that nodoka won all the games that have something to do in love.

I skipped some parts of the thread in order to avoid (some of the) spoilers. Anyway I would like to say I believe in Akamatsu-sensei's predictability: he will eventually pair Negi with Asuna, beacause it is his world. Of course I would not mind him taking a new direction - and if he did, I would place my bets on Nodoka.
Your initial question, seemingly forgotten by now, is good indeed. I must give it a thought or two.

Back in 2006 (when I was not even intending to read Negima), I read a humorously deviated scanlation posted by Zhang, entitled "Bitchslap". Since then, it has been obvious to me that there will be some extremely interesting rivalry between Miyazaki-san and Ayase-san. But I am far from familiar with the details.

yeah, i love all of those scenes, but i always wonder if they'll have any significance in the future...especially because even though they might like each othe now, things might change when they grow up...and the manga'll probably end showing their adult versions, simmilar to LH.
