Love Hina PS2 Game Review

Well, i've wanted to do this for a long time, and now i'm doing it. I'm making an 'Unprofessional and very short Review'. (This is for the Love Hina Game for PS2: 'Gojasu Chiratto Happening!!') This game got a 15+ Rating.

This is made because i want you to know how the game is, before buying it (If you're going to buy it, that is). This does also contain spoilers. This may contain grammar errors, so tell me if you find some, (You know, it's pretty hard to be a Norwegian in a English world) and please comment too. Ok, here we go:

Overwiev:

You're playing as Keitaro, and walks around in the Hinata Inn. When you find your 'Dream Girl', talk to her and get 'Love Points. Usually, there's some Mini-games too, like: Running away from Suu, duck before Naru hits you, and save the dinner plates in Shinobu's kitchen.

To win the game, you'll have to get the 'Love Meter' high on a girl. If your love meter is low at the end of the first week, it's game over. If it's low on the second week, then it's the bad ending for you. (I forgot to mention, the game has two parts: The first week and second week). And i promise you, you don't want the bad ending for Naru! But if you want to read what happens, just go the the bottom of this Review

You'll also have to collect lots of Ecchi pictures (In colors) and some of them are from the Manga. You get them by winning the Mini-games.

I'm pretty sure that some girls (and maybe some boys) may find some of the pictures and Mini-games offensive. Because the pictures contains the girls naked, (They cover the 'private' places with fog) and some Mini-games are Ecchi too, like touching someones breasts and guess who it is, and spying on the girls while they're bathing. But anyway, i find the pictures and Mini-Games extremely funny.

You know that Keitaro wants to begin on Todai? Well, here's where the hard questions begins! You'll have to answer a lot of Japanese School questions, and study two times a day. At the end of each week, you'll have to take an exam.

You may think the game sounds boring, and don't want to buy it. But trust me, it's much more funnier to play, instead of reading a Review.

Some good and bad things about the game:

+ Many Mini-games
+ Many hours of Gameplay
- Keitaro doesn't talk in this game
- Keitaro's friends and Kentaro aren't featured.

Graphics:

Everybody looks exactly like they does in the Tv-show/Manga. And the 3D character you controls when you're walking around in the Hinata Inn, looks pretty neat too.

Sound:

A lot of catchy music, and extremely good quality on the voices from the girls on Hinata Inn.
9/10


Gameplay:

Well, it's like a Sim date. The girls talks to you, and you'll have to press the O button to go on. But this has a lot of Mini-games and collectible pictures, so it makes it worth it.

Lasting Appeal:

It takes 7 hours to win a girl, if you're just clicking away everything they're saying. The pictures is really hard to get too. There's six girls, and that'll saY..... 42 hours. And it takes at least 5 hours to get all the pictures too.

Naru Ending (Bad)

After Keitaro visited Naru on the hospital (After a bad date), he's heading home. Next day, he's waiting for Naru at the school, but she isn't there. Then Keitaro begins to worry about her. After school, Haruka arrives and begins to talk to Keitaro. She says something like this: "I got a sad letter from the hospital, Keitaro", and then she begins to read it."Naru passed away today at 2:35 AM. The last thing she said was that she would never forget you, and will always be in you heart." Keitaro gets sad, and gives up Todai.

Then it ends with the Ending song and funny/Ecchi pictures of Keitaro and Naru.

Comment: The saddest ending i've ever seen in a game!

wow thats a really sad ending. i really wanted to buy this game but i cant read japanese even though im japanese. how sad is that.

I imported it from Toys n Joys. And it wasn't on Norwegian, it was on Japanese

Yes. I can't understand japanese (Just some few things) but this game was a lot of fun anyway So, it is worth buying if you're a big fan of Love Hina.

No, it isn't. So you need to know a bit Japanese if you want to understand it. But it's fun anyway, since it's full loaded with Mini-games, and unlockable pictures.

So then how do you know what's going on if you can't read it?

Well, you kinda know it when you listen to the background music, audio and watch the picture you won. If it's a Ecchi scene, you'll hear the 'F-un' (ふん) sound. (If you know what it means), and Naru will scream several times. And if you win, then you'll see whats going on.

How could you have translated that whole last passage just from the music? No offence, but there's no way you could work out that much Japanese by 'just knowing a bit'.

Heh, thats true I read that last part from a FAQ from Gamefaqs. It's no way i could translate that part.

But, It's pretty easy to understand the game, anyway. There's several sentences used again and again. I've written some of them underneath. (I don't know if the words are spelled that way, so don't complain)

Nani shite da yo = What're you doing!
Nani yo = What is it?
Hentai/Ecchi/Saite = Pervert (Used very often by Naru)
Anata ne... = Something like, You're a...
Anata wa Baka = You're a Idiot (Also used by Naru several times)

And the game is mostly based on the manga. All the characters has the 'Manga Style', and there's no opening movie either. (And almost every picture you win is from the manga, but in colors).
