Yeah, It's true. They will release the entire series (Except Love Hina: Again)in 2008 sometime. So, no, It isn't released yet. It will be released straight to DVD (Which means it won't air on TV either.)

Crap. What's the point of re-releasing a DVD? And even worse, re-releasing it without its ending?!?! Stupid whatever company decided to do this. It had gotten my hopes up, too...

Love Hina is a popular Anime show, and when a company don't longer own a license, (Like Bandai) a new one takes it, (Like Funimation) because they want to earn money for the DVD's now.
I read somewhere that there will be no changes on the episodes or menus, so there's no point buying it if you already own the DVD's.

Yes, but the company thinks they're earning money from this. There's still many people who haven't discovered Love Hina, and those people will buy the DVD's.

So the only difference from before will be that they'll be selling the DVDs in stores? Or they too cheap even for THAT?

Yeah, that's all. They'll begin to sell the DVD's in stores. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick, Motokofan.
Funimation didn't use to own the rights to Love Hina. Then they bought them, so now they do. So they're releasing the DVDs to them in order to make money. It's nothing at all to get excited about.

Now if they'd follow certain parts from the manga that the original anime didn't, then it would be something to get excited about, or maybe taking a few new roads...
But that's not the case, they just want money and see the possibility by just selling what someone used to sell a long time ago.

Well ... not quite. You all seem to be a bit disdainful of Funimation here. All they've done is bought up an expired licence. It's standard practice.
And of course they just want money. They're a business, making money is what they do.

Well at least they can be bought in stores...but still, I think that's stupid of FUNimation.

Anime wasn't too good for me... I can't get used to it's drawing style Xd But thats true that it was a first thing I saw about LH and it pushed me to buy the manga, wich was masterpiece Xpp (it was, I think vol.6)
I'm sure they will find lots of people to buy it...Last edited by vanripper; 8 Apr 2008 at 1:11 am. |
