Love Hina Manga vs Anime
I just finished reading Hinata 1 of volume 1 of the manga. OMG!!!! ITS SO DIFFERENT FROM THE ANIME!!! Keitaro and naru take the pic together right at the beginning, plus shinobu is already at the apartments! Plus theres already been way more Keitaro - Naru interaction in the first 77 pages than in the early epsiodes!

Im surprised how different the manga is, and im also surprised how much i enjoyed reading it. Although i still like watching anime better than reading the manga; a well placed playing of yakusoku in the anime makes the scene so great! Maybe when the serious stuff happens in the manga ill play yakusoku as i read it

Now im off to read Hinata 2 of volume 1

Maybe ull change ur oppinion half way through the manga, as for myself, i prefer lotsa times the manga than the anime

I just finished Hinata 2 and 3 of vol 1.

It continues to impress me And theres even more focus on keitaro - naru!!!

Im reading it off of one of those cheapo bootleg cd's. With how much im liking this manga ill have to buy the real ones like i did with the anime. Support the creaters! XD

Out of curiosity i checked the manga preview scans on tokyopop's site and the english translations are different from the manga cd i have. Im guessing mine were translated by the creator of the cd perhaps. About 5-6 pages were obviously originally scans of japanese manga, and then were pasted over with english in windows paint but the rest of them look like normal manga but the sentances are different from the tokyopop ones. They have the same meaning but are written differently. Any idea what the deal is here?

Im prolly gonna buy the official english mangas from a store but ill be reading this cd first to see if they are worth buying and i just was wondering if anyone could clear up any of that stuff above.

Lh manga is really better than Lh anime cuz it really follows whats on the Mind of that Ken Akamatsu... And The manga really shows the real side of other characters like Motoko, Shinobu and the others... I really liked Vol. 13 where they focused on Motoko and her feelings towards keitaro...

And I really liked the manga cuz Kentaro was not there....

I was looking around online for the mangas. Found a site: www.justmanga.com

They have the whole manga set 1-14 for $115.99 with free shipping.

Thats a pretty good deal right? From what ive seen its usually ~$140 for 1-14. I hope this is a good deal because when i was checking to see if they accept payment by money order i accidentally placed an order for the 1-14 manga set. XD Spent $115.99 and didnt even realize it at first - 2am must really be too late to be doing this

If thats a good deal i wont cancel the order and ill just spend the money. (Takes me about 16 hours of work to make that much cash ) but its worth it when its love hina

Yah! Spend the money! theres nothing wrong with it cuz Love Hina is a good series...

Those Mangas can be precious too... 20 years from now... Also can be a high priced Manga... Years from now... Something like antique...

People with the original copy of those manga are really lucky...

Not like me.. I'm just relying my self on scanlations over the net cuz no one sells manga here at the philippines...

That makes my Country Suck!

Heh,the LH manga is waaaaahaaaaaayyyyyy better than the anime in my minds

Motoko <3......ahem......

You´ve probably noticed that the characters look different as well?

For example Anime Motoko has a much rounder face than the manga one,she also got bigger eyes.

Shinobu actually looks like a twelve year old in the manga and her looks change as the manga continues on...heck,not only her looks,but everybodys look.

No, it ended before that sadly...thats why we all want more LH anime, it'd be nice to see the anime have a final ending.

I guess ill let the order go then, id like to have the 'real deal' mangas if u know what i mean anyway. Only downside to books over scans is reading at night. I kinda like reading the scans in the dark at night. Dont know why XD

Me too! And I also like reading them w/out anyone looking at me...

When reading mangas, I always develop paranoia on me...

get the manga. buy it, support the creators!

it's different in many places to the anime, and while reading it you get a lot more charcater development, because it's easier to do in wirtten form than in animation.

more Kei and Naru interaction? I knew there was a drawback to the manga...

Yea im gonna leave that order in place and go get the money order. Bye bye $115.99, but thats $115.99 well spent. If no one buys the real stuff there's no way we'll ever see new love hina anime Plus its only fair to support the people who made the manga. I got the bootleg so i could see how much i liked it and i really really enjoyed reading it so its time to pay up. Maybe ill scan my mangas when i get a scanner. Then ill have a perfect copy on my computer and in print

And the added naru - keitaro stuff is a huge PLUS to the manga! not to mention the additional ecchi content. Sometimes ecchi can ruin a series but they pull it off well in the mangas, cuz its love hina!

its a good way of getting used to the series, and if you like it enough, you can then decide to go get the legit version.

I've nothing against bootlegs. if you view them and don't like the series, you've not lost anything, but if you do like it, then buy the series, and you've made a contribution

One thing that really crakced me up the first time i saw it was then they mention tokyo u in episode 1 of the anime and su says "whats a tokyo u?", "is it edible"

I was laughing so hard at that! :lolhard:

Do you watch the anime subbed or dubbed? I watch it dubbed and i think thats one of the things that makes su so funny. Her english voice is just plain funny.

I want the mangas to get here!!! Shouldnt be more than a week and a half from now. XD
