Thanks for those reassuring comments Hikari. Believe or not, but the fact that Seed has such depth, is why most American fans of Gundam hate it. They simply complain it doesnt have enough action; but that isnt what Gundam is truly about. Gundam is about addressing the fact of war in a way that makes you think about every moment on the battlefield from the soldier's point of view. The mech battles are just a bonus.

I learned that. I mean I went into SEED hopeing to see some 'splosions and cool looking robots. But as it progressed, that was the least on my mind. The conflict between different peoples, friends and lovers. War is a tradgic, ironic tale and I think SEED illustrates it perfectly thus far.

That in a nutshell is exactly why 98% of the Gundam franchize (and alot of other good anime series) fails when it came to the US. Stupid America, plot is important damnit! YOU'RE THE REASON WHY THE ORIGINAL GUNDAM GOT KICKED OFF OF TOONAMI! THE WHOLE WORLD ISN'T MONSTER OF THE WEEK LIKE POWER RANGERS YOU KNOW!!!

Also, I would like to point out that "super sentai", the series that Power Rangers was based on, has a deep, coherent plot that gets completely ripped out (along with basically everything else except for the fight scenes) when it's remade for American audiences. And that's on topic because zords count as mechs.

I had no idea about this. But now I realize the reason I used to avoid mecha anime: I thought that alot of it would focus too much on the fighting and not enough on the plot and storyline. After watching more than half of Gundam Seed, however, I realized the error in that assumption. Therefore, though I don't have much of a head for hi-tech information, I have decided to start delving further into the world of everything mecha. I believe that watching Seed has rekindled my old interest in Gundam, and I have only Supreme Commander ShinigamiDuo to thank for this. *salutes* I am ever at your command, sir!

Well I have watched the original Gundam
I just dont remember it too well. Also, I ran through Federation vs Zeon a numerous amount of times. I think I have the basic plot down.

Well, I spent the last week or two cramming Gundam SEED, but I've finally finished.

Truth be told, it reminded me of why I liked Wing and G so much. It's the deep and interesting storyline mixed with the sheer awesomeness of Gundams. I believe I have finally reentered mecha fandom, and can now in better conscience call myself a member of this brigade.

From this point on, I will begin a thorough exploration of the mecha genre, starting with Gundam SEED Destiny and the rewatching of G and Wing. From there, I suppose the sky's the limit.

Gotta say it again. Thanks, Supreme Commander ShinigamiDuo! *salute* I will serve this brigade as best I can.
