Already taken care of that. They asked me about it earlier and I've already put things in motion. There are now two research departments for the project, one in each Brigade. The project is now reestablished.

Why not an abandoned colony? There are plenty of those and they can easily support a small fleet of ships.

Ah, an astroid base. Those are a favorite of mine due to the beating they can take. (look at New Pearl in my storyline)
If that is what you wish, I'd suggest taking one that is a former resource facility. It'll already have some structures there as well as already have some of the interior mined so it would save us time in constructing a base. Add to that it would already have some external docking facilities that we could use for resupply purposes, keeping outsiders from entering a main interior hanger and thus keeping our ships from being threatened by a sneak attack from a fake resupply ship.
