You're just wierd like that Ryouba. The veritechs from macross are also easily explainable. Either A. they saw big dorrways for big aliens and wanted a robot to fight something that big, or B. the veritech's battloid sizes are just coincidently that size. Aside from them wanting transforming planes, or feeling it's militaristically better than a walking tank.

How would Mecha define NGE? Besides the overly confusing plot that I needed Wikipedia's help to define, would NGE really be considered mecha since the majority of the Evas were biological in nature?

Macross did have walking tanks in the form of the Destroids.

The Destroids were not as maneuverable against what the ASS-1 survey team figured the actual height of the 'enemy' was, so they thought transformable aircraft that can act both as a standard dogfighter/interceptor and three story high walking infantry exoskeleton was good.

That's acutally a debated question. While yes, they are outwardly mechanized, the core of their existance is biological, and the mechanized objects they are fitted with are used only to maintain control of said biological portion and for actual combat. While the EVA's existance as an originally pure biological creature is what prevents EVAs from being considered a mecha in my book (or at the very least, prevent them from being considered "real-type" mecha), there are still some who, due to their own definitions of what they define "mecha" as, still cite them as mecha (I believe the mostly biological component constructed "Aura Battlers" from Seisenshi Dunbine are often used for these explinations).

However, the widely-accepted standard definition of mecha is "a limbed robot that is pilotable". Therefore, I believe EVAs should not be considered mecha... and no, I don't care what SRW says Duo. If you have a problem with that, then it's your turn to rant.

Ring of Red... Its the one WWII game that I really like. Because world war 2 and the cold war are not when you put what I consider to be the most "real" of "Real Type" mecha.
