well, you don't HAVE to, but it's highly recommended if you don't want your mech flying across space with no chance of rescue
 for now, it'd best to go with your commander's orders to ensure a good battle. Duo and Bal are two of best mech pilots i've seen, they won't let you down so best show 'em you can act as part of the team, unlike me  i have wanna-be-main-character-that-jumps-into-action-at-any-given-moment disorder  it's gettin better tho

The basics are easy to master. The key in my opinion is to describe accurately what it is you are controlling the machine to do.
