Touche, people. Thoes blade techs are REALLY GREAT. ^_^

I'll have to pracice those sometime. And now for a made up one:

WIND CUTTER

Slash normally, and a gust picks up that slashes everything in its path.

I'm surprised all of the other techniques are real (except maybe Betong's - an arm attaching to the haed?).

We already have Mo-chan's "Zan Kuu Zen" on that wind thingie.

Questioning my equipment, I use a sturdy Chirijiraden for keeps! It's been around me for six years and it's still pretty sharp. A trusty blade, I tell you.

Back to me.

The popular "Ground Strike Slash" still owns some anime series today. It is executed by striking and sliding the blade in to ground for power, then finally releasing it upward, dealing massive damage. If you love power alone, this move will serve you well.

Gee... all I have to practice with (well, not really - just what i _prefer_ to pracice with) is a bamboo rod, which is 1x1x31 cm. It's good, though. I can dish out _crazy_ moves wiht it. ^_^

And yet another:

BLADE FAKE-OUT

1. Bring your blade above your head as if you are going to launch an over-the-head slash.
2. QUICKLY bring the blade down at about waist level, then slice forward. Your opponent will probably fall for this one. ^_^

Although it's tricky to pull off, the end result an be well worth it.

You'd have to be quick to pull it off.
Else they'd see it coming too easy while you're trying to move the sword.

What might be easier... Is to, from Jodan (the overhead position), quickly bring the sword straight down and inward, so the handle is being held near your bellybutton, on the left (or right. Whichever's easiest) side, with the tip facing forward towards the opponent, then thrust outward hard and quickly.

Of Keiha's... Ground Strike Slash... That's really similar to Squall's Rough Divide in FFVIII. I loved that. Do it all the time.
It's a bit slow though... but the resistance on the ground leads to a much stronger Rising cut.
Great way to dull your blade, though... Or you could even get it stuck, if you press too hard. ^_^;;;

I like the "Riser". It's basically a Jump Slash... Just straight overhead and down cut... Except... Instead of actually hitting your enemy with the sword itself, you let it land on the ground before you reach them... Of course, they think you miss, but as you hit the ground, you quickly release a large amount of Ki out of the blade, so that it trails along the ground in the direction that the tip faced when the sword hit the ground. Depending on how much Ki you use, will determine how bit the Ki trail is, and how far it lasts before dissappating.
People with much more control of their Ki can actuall cause the Ki trail to arc in a different direction even after it left the sword.

Of course, this is purely fictional. But it's one of my favorite RP moves. ^_^

Yup. Got Cloud's move all right.

And that Riser thingie. So common. Jin of Capcom lore uses that.

Back to me. And I'll be dealing with counters this time.

This is called the Ferris Counter. Effective on upper attacks with weapons. You block or specifically ward off the blade with yours. The difference is that you use a frontal upwartd crescent slash(meaning using the slash in the vicinity of the attack to catch the enemy's blade) in order to execute the final blow, which is another upward crescent slash. It can also be a stab or a downward overhead slash. Varies a lot, imagination is the limit. Counter's great. Try it!

Ohh... Thats nice.

I'm not so sure about rinsing and repeating though...

Any modification for this tech to use for a single blade?

(If anyone cant understand this... I can clarify it. XD)

My turn again.

Have you ever used Sachikaze no Ken? A three blade technique excuted with a blade on both hands and an aerial blade(meaning thrown in the air and catched, throwing another one in the process). Quite simple, bit also difficult. The motion leaves you like juggling swords while attacking the target. You do multiple slashes while one blade is in the air, then catch the blade and throw the other ano to perform several more slashes. This move is simultaneous, so it's really, really, really hard! You can evern pull off a dance appropriate for the move.

I pulled one for keeps. My opponenet tried to ward the attacks, but to no avail. He lost, and treated my to a nice Yakisoba XL!(hehehe)

Try this. If you pull this one off, then I can say you already adept at swordsmanship.

Ohh! Sounds awesome!
But... You have to be REALLY coordinated to pull something like that off...

To actually throw and catch a live blade? While worrying about your opponent, where the flying blade is, how you're catching the blade, attacking...
I'd definately slice my hand off with this one. >.<

I think it'd work best with something like Tanto or Kodachi... Katana would simply be too long to throw and catch properly. O__o

whoo..... juggling swords? That'll have to wait for me. -_-;;;
same problem as Ryo.

While on the subject of countering, here's a simple move:

OFFENSIVE DEFENSE

1. Wait for your opponent to make a move, say an overhead slash.
2. Slice forward, striking your opponent's blade. If you can muster enough strength, the opponen'ts blade should backfire on him/her.

There's a good chance that he/she will be caught off guard, so there's your chance to counterattack. One problem: when the two blades collide, there's a nice way to put a dent in your blade.

Although, you could rotate your blade so that the blunt edge gets the hit.....

hmmm...an interesting thread but i don't think sword techniques can be taught over the internet

if any of u are REALLY into swords and shat i advise looking into iaido (sword unsheathing) or tamashigiri (cutting reed mats)....both are really boring and take a long time to actually get praised for so u better b commited!!!

otherwise; i really like this thread k741

I actually tried doing that a few times with my sword, sheathed of course. Caught it by the handle 15 times...out of about 30. And I am pretty coordinated with the sword and it's so freaking hard. I laugh at myself! My advice...NEVER TRY THIS WITH A LIVE BLADE! >_<
