Another counter tech!

A Back Slice would get you outta trouble in a jiffy. First, try to block the enemy's blade, but not with full force. You must tend to let the attack push your blade to the other direction, and use the enemy weapon's force to let you pull a strong slice on the enemy's back. Probably, this would be a overhead blocked slash, and the result would be a midsection slice. Simple, ne?

Second one. This I call "Heaven's Strike". This is performed by striking the sword to the ground, making a pole for you to launch yourself upward and evade attack. A somersault is in order, so I think you need some aeronautics on this one. Use the force you use to strike the blade and the "pole"(the struck-down sword) to launch yourself to the back of the enemy, via a somersault. If you want, you can even use a martial arts technique during the position switch, say, a flipping axe kick(My, that's gotta hurt....). Oh, and don't forget not to loosen grip on the sword. You're going to get that while flipping over, so tighten up! After getting the sword and into the backs of the enemy, try something you know will suit them best(imagination, kids).

Nori... Dun like swords??? BLASPHEMY!!! O___O

Ehh... To each their own, I suppose, ne? =Þ

Wolfie. Spins are fun, but quite dangerous. You'd have to knock the opponent's blade pretty hard to get away with a spin. To do it smoothly, you'd have to knock hard enough so you go straight into a spin after the hit without having to retract your sword and start the spin from zero momentum. A light hit would give too much ease for recovery, leaving your back wide for attack during the spin. That, or you'd have to spin incredibly fast... Which means for a flawless entry to the spin. Also, you have to be careful not to get dizzy and lose balance during the spin. Not to mention trying to predict your aim during one...

But if done correctly... It's VERY effective due to the added speed and momentum power of the blade from the spin. =Þ

And I think, since this IS the Motoko Brigade... And Motoko deals mostly with Kendo... We'd be best to stick with a Katana. Though we'll make allowances for Tanto, Kodachi, Twin Katana/Kodachi (Nito Ryuu), and at a FAR streach... Maybe Naginata... Since the style is very closely tied with Kendo. XD

MotokoLover... No Bokken or Shinai? Get one! They arent hard to find... or even order online. They're cheap too... About $10 - $15 depending on the type...
And if too cheap or desprate... Use a broom, or broom handle, or some sort of straightish long stick.
Just about anything will do as a sword. =Þ

Keiha... A back strike is good... Especially if you couple it with a spin!
In this case... Say someone attacks with Jodan (overhead). As they strike, move in and to the side (for me, to the left, since I'm right handed.) Block the attack with your sword as you move in, and start past them. Push off hard, as to knock their blade aside. As you do so, use this momentum to start a spin in the same direction, still moving past them. By the time you whirl around, they will be too far off because of your push, and your moving past them, that their back will be wide open for attack. ^_^

However, I REALLY dont like attacking someone's back. It's against my code. Well, unless it was a true survival fight... <_<

The Heaven's Strike sounds really cool... But I think it's REALLY hard to pull off a pole vaulting flip. O__o
But, with the proper acrobatics... and far enough Maai for a vault and flip... This could turn out really cool. =Þ

Again, be careful, though... Sharp swords and ground dont mix. Attempting to vault could result in your weight pushing the sword into the ground (making pulling it impossible, or completely destroying your momentium, and causing you to simply face plant. >.<) or could wedge your sword in hard ground, or maybe even slip.

Very risky... But one usually sacrifices safety for style, ne? XD

Aye, I agree that the spin would be pretty hard, it might be a little safer if you sidestep while doing it :-/

Hmm, ah well.....but I gotta say, though, Motoko does use hidden knives >D ( check episode three, when keitaro comes up to the roof to talk to her, if you don´t recall it)

Swallow catches bug (=P)

When there is a pause in the fight (which there will be, unless someone dies really fast ) you throw a knife straight at your opponent and rush right after it and when you get to him you go low and swipe at his legs from left to right. After that you reverse into a upwards slash from lower right to upper left, to finish it off you do a horisontal slash at either his abdomen or his hands if he got his sword down again.

Might leave you abit open, though ......I think I prefer short swords, like a tanto or something...wakizashi?

I think a Wakizashi is about the same length as a Kodachi. =Þ
I've always liked longer blades though...

Yeah, I think any attack behind a throwing knife would be pretty good, just because it gives them more things they have to deal with.
Of course, though... A knife's throw is pretty linear, so it's more easy to dodge that and concentrate on the attacker...
But, timing is everything. =Þ

You've earned it, Urashima-san. ^_^

Wow...."Swallo catches Bug" sounds like a really great one. But, I don't like either chucking knives at your opponent and wasting a knife (well, unless you're a ninja). That's just me... and my code.

Back to me. Still on counters, we are.

This one takes a lot of energy and speed to pull. The next move is called "Fountain of Blood". Usually this is done when an enemy does an overhead slash on you. But to tell you the truth, the counter is done best done before the enemy can even prepare to swing sword. So meaning that if you know that the enemy will attack, this move should already be done.

Make sure the enemy is still not preppring up sword. A split second chance will be there for you to lunge into the midsection of the enemy. But as lunging, hold the blade horizantally as if to make an upward slash. Use your elbow with the blunt edge of the sword to help with power.

As you zoom in, make a crescent upward slash to the enemy. Chances are:

55% Hit
20% Weapons counter
25% Miss

A bit speculated and hard move, but you can do it!

I've come up with new techs!! Yay!!

PIERCING SWEEP

1. Thurst forward, and make sure you are lower than usual when executing the thrust.
2. Quickly pull your blade back, and perform a low slash. Might be a bit tricky, though.

UPPERCUT SLICE

1. Perform an uppercut slash.
2. Follow up wiht a horizontal swing of your blade.

Simple. As usual. ^_^

Back to me!

This time, we focus on Naginata(which by the way I'm doing some right now...), which Mo-chan uses by the way.

This one is called Triple Dragon Strike. You'll need a bit of accuracy here. First, you need to aim a thrust at the foot of the enemy, specifically below his shoe(or anything he puts on his feet). One foot is enough to flip him/her upward and lose her balance airborne. Follow up with a smashing overhead whack, and once you reach ground, throw the naginata for a quick follow up! You gotta be accurate again, though...

I've come up with my own blade techniques!! ^^
1. "Cresent Moon Wave" - Concentrates the Lunar Energy into the blade and convers it into a powerfull cresent moon shape wave "Ranged Attack"
2. "Moonlight Death Slash" - same as the "Cresent Moon Wave" but much deadlier "Close Range Attack"
"WARNING The Monnlight Death Slash It's a SUICIDAL SKILL and can be used 1 time only and the user who uses this skill will be killed"

Some of us already come trained in the way of the sword.

Others, like me, learned swordplay by themselves. ^_^

And Urashima-san, nice change! Whatever prompted it, I wonder?

(notice the new brigade sig)

Tyroki is on a distinguished road
I do have a technique I could share, however I do not wish for it to be used by others in Roleplaying, as it is one of my "Secret techniques" for use of my characters only.

So... Should I tell of such a technique... It is really quite lethal.
