blade techniques!!

Finally..... I got this up!

What this thread is: a list of blade techniques (as the name suggests) that is MADE UP by the members of the Motoko Brigade. The blade techs can either be real (performed with a real .... well, whatever you practice with) or manga-ish (like a tech that spits out heavenly fire, like Motoko would do with her blade).

Here's one of my favorites:

TRIPLE BLADE TECHNIQUE

1. With your sword arm, slice so that your blade is on the opposite side. i.e., you use your right hand and slice to your left.
2. Slash back. This time your sword arm should be behind your back, at an angle.
3. After that, thrust forward. This last move is REALLY hard to block.

I do Kendo, so maybe I can participate.

A common but very difficult move to execute, is a crescent slash and a full moon slash. These can be done downward, but most of the time the moves are done upward. A suprisingly powerful move if executed properly, but also a time-taking move, eventually having to prepare the sword for a strike.

Second, the quick "Battou" slash, coming from the battou, or scabbard of the Katana. Quite awkward from what they say that it's powerful and efficient to do this kind of move, it is hard to draw and slash both at the same time. Secondly, you can't do a quick slash, realizing that it can from teh scabbard directly. Third, speed is greatly reduced, for obvious reasons, unless you're somewhat like Mo-chan or Tsuruko.

Well, that's all I can shatre for now. Next time, moves on another plane and angel shall be shared, so prepare your bokken and shinai(the official word for the bamboo sword of kendo lore) for teh next lesson!

Battou no Jutsu!
You've been watching Kenshin lately, havent you?

It's actually stemmed from techniques of Iaido, which is a sword style focused around the drawing of the sword.

Actually, contrary to logic... A Battou attack is actually NOT slower than a normal slash... If preformed correctly. The drawing of the blade actually speeds it up more than if you were to just slash it.

Then again... Not ALL of us have mastered the art of Battou no Jutsu like Kenshin. <_<
(Tsuruko used it once... On the semi truck... Sephiroth often uses Battou no Jutsu, if you've fought him in Kingdom Hearts. XD)

I find slashing from a draw is easiest. You can either slash straight up. Diagonal, or horizontal.
It's fun. ^_^

Physical reality can stop nothing. For example, it is possible, in theory, for you arm to jump off your torso and attach itself to your head. There's no reason it shouldn't.

It's just not particularly likely.

Sure, it may look screwed up... But at least you could preform Santo Ryuu with ease... and without having to try and hold a sword in your mouth. >_>

Katana are great, but you cant spar with them. A BIT too dangerous. >_>
(Sure... You SHOULDNT spar with Bokuto either... You SHOULD use Shinai instead... But I just prefer Bokken.)

Ohh... You have a Kunai? A really good one or what? I wanna see! =Þ

I have... 3 Katana (one is crappy, and one is actually a Ninjato), a Tanto, 2 Bokken (well, 2 that are still whole. I have 3-4 ones that have been broken... <_<), and a good bunch of sticks, brooms, and other things that double as Kendo Sticks for when I wanna spar, but dun feel like busting up my remaning bokken. >_>

By the way, Aegis... What's a Sharigen? I, for some odd reason... Keep thinking Sharingan. XD (Yay Naruto!)

A poor one, and without access to any of that stuff ;_; , but the lightsaber thingie actually resembles a bokken somewhat. It´s about 1 to 1,1 metres long and gets heavy to swing around after a while.
So I guess I could go nuts with it.

( oh, I do know of a shop where I can buy LOTR swords -_- )

Boff LOTR swords! They're mideval, not Japanese. XÞ

Bokuto are cheap, anyhow. Only around $15 - $20. ^_^

Katana are a bit more, of course. Depending on quality and such. >_>
