Motoko's hair is originally that color according to the Manga.
(The colored covers and such, at least.) In the Anime, it was changed to Jet Black. O__o Ang. Your pictures are the best!!! Yay for Motoko in REALLY cute outfits. ^__^ Not quite 'traditional', but works wonderfully. And UBER WIN for the other Motoko/Setsuna piccy! (Obviously same source as the first, judging by the overlayed Kanji in the background.) Translation: Motoko - 何で私までミニスカに？！ Nan de watashi made MINISUKA ni?! (What am I in a Mini Skirt for?) Setsuna - リクエストですから RIKUESUTO desu kara. (It was a request.) Holy crap... I could actually COMPLETELY read and translate that without any references. Katakana's easy.
I actually learned that first. I did it backwards. I was self taught... and at the time, I had personally decided that I liked the look of Katakana better... because Hiragana was too curvy, curly, and confusing. So I learned Katakana first. Only recently (like, a month ago) have I finally learned Hiragana. ^_^
