Since my old thread about a "Mana Tatsumiya's own video game" has gotten filled up with so much discussion that I decided to make a new one.

Anyway, I gave it a new name!

SHADOW OF ARKANA

I thought it would be a good name since Mana's real second name is Arkana (Latin for secret) and uses "Tatsumiya" as an alias.

It's still thought up as an action heavy shooter with a strong storyline.

Platform: Nintendo Wii.
Genre: Third-person shooter
Age rating: Pegi 16+
Contains: Mild innuendo, heavy brutality, moderate fantasy violence, moderate language, Blood and use of
real-world fire arms.

STORY

The story ought to have ties to the manga and I haven't read the rest of the Festival arc volumes yet.

Basically, you play as Mana as the main character who takes a job from an anonymous person to hunt down and stop a secret cult from resurrecting a forbidden god of destruction. Sounds kinda typical but theres twists and stuff so it basically won't be one of those dumb games that hardly have any plot at all.

Mana must travel around the world to hunt down the cult and along the way, revisit places from her past and figure out both the cult's ambition and the secrets around that she doesn't know.

Both the world and Mana's fate will be decided in a storm of bullets!

CAST

Mana Tatsumiya
A student of Mahora Academy under child teacher and wizard, Negi Springfield's tutorship and
also a heartless mercenary. She is offered an anonymous job to stop a cult from attempting to
resurrect a chaotic god and so travels all over the world to take on the job.

Hiruko Sanukachi
A traveler who is scouring all over Japan in search for Mana for revenge for murdering his brother whom he knows is a powerful mage. Although a mundane, Hiruko has great knowledge on magic and is a ferocious gunfighter who won't rest until Mana dies before his eyes and he
has her blood stained on his hands.

FEATURES

-Features all the 31 girls from the Negima series as well as Negi! Plus new characters exclusive to "Shadow of Arkana".

-Over 32 real-world weapons such as the Berreta M9, Desert Eagle, FN P90, Ak-47, AT4 anti-tank missle launcher and fictional weapons like plasma rifles and chain guns.

-RPG-style skill building system: Kill enemies, execute distant shots, critical shots and complete secondary objectives to earn skill points and spend them to enhance Mana's abilities and learn magic spells!

-Experience the action in either traditional third person, over the shoulder or first person views. (Inspired by FF7: Dirge of Cerberus)

-Open ended gameplay, complex enemy A.I (Don't make it sucky!) and of course, unlockable extras for decent replay value (What's a good game without any?)

I'm not making this, it's just an idea I'm getting too carried away with.

My initial idea consisted of this old combination of the health, magic and special gauges (Fills up as you kill enemies or receive damage, when full you can use a special ability which will be explained later.) which were pretty unbeknownst to me at the time "hilariosuly dirty" according to Fuzileer and two seperate weapon and ammo displays for a Halo-style dual wield system but later I decided to make it simplified by just restricting dual wielding to just using two of the same weapon.



A new design of the HUD. No more dodgy looking health bar, hello.... well... something different. And of course, Mana on a ladder, aiming a gun at an enemy mercenary, the planned common enemies in the game.



It'll also have one of those systems where you hide behind cover, lean out and shoot.
Mana right now is encountering three bad guys in an ancient tomb.

Mercenary A: "We have encountered the mission target. Estimating her ability, we are requesting for immediate assistance."

Whoever they are, they seem to know Mana's skills.

Mercenary B: "Die b*tch!"

and yes of course... there's swearing!

Mercenary C: " Enemy on sight!"

I'd move that limb if I were you, Mana.

Not that I'm making it. The furthest I can possibly go is finishing the story and probably make a Doujinshi out of it.

PS. I updated the first post again with a description of two of the major characters
(Mana and an exclusive male character I made up!)

Hmm, don't know. Though if we do create a game it's always nice to have a site ..
I have no idea how we're going to program it.

Oh and I forgot, I can do assembly aswell.

Okay. But don't go straight to making it right away if thats what you're
thinking. The story's still in production (And on Hiatus as I am occupied on
a few other projects of mine) and I have to read the rest of the Manga volumes to see what becomes of the enigmatic mercenary.
