I don't think Fate is really a good guy:
1. He doesn't stop Tsukoyumi on her intention on killing Asuna's group, just a deferment 2. Several times he attacked Negi and nearly killed him 3. A wild dragon, known for their savageness is seen 'on their side' 4. One of Fate's companion became anxious when s/he learned that Rakan is alive 5. And read the very last page of Period 215, on what Al Imma told him about this Fate guy Or, on the other hand, he's a somewhat fundamentalist.

Hitler thought he was the good guy and so did a lot of others which just goes to show but did anyone here know that Fate has 5 pactio partners?! i know i was shocked to think that he'd do the pactio kiss with anyone when he'd probably see that as a weakness 'cause he's such a badass! oh wait... he probably did the blood exchange version of the pactio i keep forgetting they can do that...

I was also stunned when he has pactio partners, since Eva said that He ain't human. I'm wondering if there'll be a one-on-one battle in the future. One from each member of the teacher vs. one from the other. Ain't that kewl?

Fate wants to save the Magic World. He hopes to save the world by breaking all contact with the Eath. The ex-Kosmos members are using Fate. The ex-Kosmos members want to break contact with Earth as a result of the Earth Magi intervention twenty years earlier.
The Magic World leaders believe that there is a need to maintain contact with the Earth despite what the majority of the citizens want. Oddly, the Magic World continues to honor Nagi Springfield, a hero from the Earth. The main point of the majority of Magic World's citizens' views of Earth are sort of apathic. They are curious about the Earth and its people. Sometime in the future, full contact between the Magic World and the Earth will be establish. Fate thinks that what he is doing best for his world. He wants to protect the Magic World from what he believes to be the corruption of the Earth. He feels that he is doing the right thing with help from his ex-Kosmos group allies. Yet, Fate is not aware that he being used by his allies. Kosmos is the first word of the name of the secret organization whom the Crimson Wing expose twenty years earlier.
