Thats true - Setsuna does look a lot like Chao, and taking on board Negi's somewhat cute looks as an 16 year old, etc, then I think that she could well be the one.

I can say that negi can choose other girls other than asuna.Asuna is too old for negi.Their age gap is too high.It should also be noted that as of Chapter 169 Asuna's true age has come into question. Albireo, in one of Asuna's dreams, says that, like himself, her age can not be determined by her appearance alone. Also Asuna is shown to have taken part in a battle that, although yet to be dated or named as such, appears to have happened during the Magical wars, which took place 20 years ago. Given this new information, some have estimated her real age to be probably 27-32 years, close to the same age as Nagi would be.
Besides,amatsu wouldn't put nodoka and yue in a love triangle for nothing.It's a good twist for the two bestfriend to fall in love in the same guy.
Asuna just like negi mention in vol.1 looks like her sister nekane which make me think that asuna might be negi's mother.It might be a mother instinct that make her to worry and tries to always protect negi.Well that's just my own opinion.I have no great evidence about it.

well we know asuna would've chosen nagi for a pactio instead of anyone else in his group so yes she could've been Negi's mother. Btw nekane is negi's cousin not her sister. this is why he calls her onee-chan instead of aneko. it's tough to say. as for asuna and chisame i don't think so. both of them have orange hairs and negi's red haired. so their daughter would have a orange-red hair there is no way chao would then have dye-black hair. so i would presume anyone dark haired would be it possibly nodoka or yue.

blck fox, they didnt find asuna during the 20 yr old war because nagi was 15 years old than and takamachi is a boy but when you see takamachi asking asuna for help with kanka he looks to be in his 20s (oh yea the kid with the white hairin the red wing photo is takamachi)
also if she was one of nagis followers at the the time alot people would know about her including evangeline
but she still could have a wierd age i dont know
also i think it might setsuna the gets with negi because of her appearance is similar to chao but i doubt it(she seems to want to be with konoka the rest of her life and guard her not the type to marry and chao would have wings)

Anyway about asuna.When nagi put a curse on evangeline, he is all alone and he seems much matured.We can say that at that time,he is travelling alone without his party which means his journey with the crimson wings members is over.Evangeline said that she has been comfined in mahora academy for 15 years.If asuna is 14 or 15 yrs old then she would not meet nagi and his party.I also think that nagi meet asuna when he is 15 yrs old.
If nagi=15 yrs old and asuna=5 or 6 yrs old then nagi= 25 yrs old, asuna 15/16 yrs old,negi=10 yrs old. Do you really think nagi would have a child if he is only 15 yrs old?

The Magic War ended in 1983. Nagi was fifiteen when the Crimson Wing was involved in the War. Nagi was 25 when he disappeared in 1993. Negi was born in 1993.

The identity of the member in front of Nagi is presentily unknown. The member is likely a tomboy. The mystery member is likely a tag-along or a mascot for the Crimson Wing. The young Takahata is indeed in front of his master Gateau. Takahata was likely a mascot for the Crimson Wing, too. He may have participated in some battles.

We did not see Takahata and the sixth member in the battle scene in the Ch. 169 flashback. Takahata's and the mystery member were likely mascots. They were considered to members of the Crimson Wing. They were not allow to fight in the more extreme battles which the Crimson Wing have fought in.

I think nodoka would be negi's wife.Nodoka is the 1st one who fallen in love towards negi.She is the 1st one who confessed to him not only once but twice.She is also the 1st one who give negi a romantic kiss (non-pactio and non-possed).I really like nodoka's personality far away than shinobu.Both of them were shy but nodoka can have courage when she needs it specially if it was for negi (which make her asuna's inspiration when she confess to takahata).Nodoka is very kind and nice that even if yue have feelings for negi,she doesn't put hatred to her friend but understand and forgive her bestfriend unlike in some love triangle that friendship have been crushed because of love.When she and her friends see negi ask asuna to be his partner to go in his hometown and mistaken it as a confession,she cried and wish for their happiness and run away (although it just a misunderstanding and negi really plan to invite all of them.).This means she's not a selfish person and respect negi's decision (although she have a pervert inner self but it make her cute and funny at the same time ^^).That's why i see her as a perfect person for negi.She even won in ken amatsu's own poll 'who like negi most'.Also i think negi can have feelings for nodoka.Of all the kisses he have,he like his kiss from nodoka in the mahora festival.When he confess to misora (he mistaken her as the priest),she ask him if there a girl he likes.The 1st girl appear in his mind is asuna but he reject it.Next is anya but also the same with asuna.Afterwards is the other girls but he just think of them as a respectful women.Nodoka appears last but makes him blush.He also promised to yue that he will reply to nodoka after she graduate since they were in the teacher/student relationship.

Yeah it's true.All the girls are older than him except anya. 4 or 5 years gap is not bad in a relationship.I also thought when i first watch mahou sensei negima(i watch the anime 1st before reading the manga) that asuna already won in the negi harem even it's not yet started just like narusegawa to keitaro.I changed my mind later when ken amatasu is starting to reveal her past.Also i noticed that almost all of nodoka's appearance in manga focus on her love for negi.She steps forward towards negi unlike shinobu that just simply admired keitaro secretly.I even see her to be much similar to Hinata in naruto than shinobu ( to tell you the truth I'm a naruhina fan ^_^)
The reason's i think negi wouldn't hook up to asuna?

1.Her past tell that she (5 or 6 yrs old plus albireo statement her age cannot be judge in her appearance like him) meet nagi during his journey with the crimson wings which many says that happen during the mahora war since the crimson wings are the one that ended the war and the world of magic became peaceful.I already mention this in my previous post above,If it is true then her true age is around 25-32 yrs old.Isn't it too ankward if she would be negi's girlfriend?She can be with takamichi instead.About why evangeline doesn't know anything about asuna is simple.She's not a social person right?She doesn't care whatever happen in the world just like in the mahora festival.She just got interest on nagi when he save her.

2.She and negi build up a sibling relationship thus giving him a bath and she sometimes let him sleep besides her. Negi and Asuna's relationship starts on very shaky ground, but quickly improves as they get to know one another. Asuna tends to act like an older sister towards Negi, and is fiercely protective of him, whether from enemies, the overly-affectionate (and perverted, in her opinion) schemes and actions of her classmates, or even Negi's own drive and ambition. Asuna denies any kind of romantic feelings between Negi or herself and is even a little repulsed by the very idea.Initially introduced as the lead interest within the "harem" of the original concept, the focus of Asuna's role in the story moves away from any "romantic" relationship with Negi, which is delegated more as a sibling relationship. Instead, the story explores her mysterious background, which hints at an enigmatic power and a past that she has forgotten

3.I notice that in the anime that she very rarely shows romantic interest on negi unlike nodoka that gain even fillers that shows her growing love to negi.In the episode negi and nodoka date to magical land,she help yue to bring closeness to negi and nodoka.She even challenge ayaka on a match so they can't cross path on negi and nodoka.I also noticed that of all her classmates she seems not against nodoka to go for negi unlike ayaka,makie and others.When nodoka mistaken that negi confessed to her,she calls nodoka with a woried face.She seems afraid of what nodoka's reaction on their misunderstanding.

4.Some says that asuna is similar to naru narusegawa in ken amatasu's privious work Love hina.Well it's true that asuna and naru are similar: both are violent, short-tempered girls with limited patience towards the main male lead yet show a care and trust that grows as the story progresses. Despite similarities to Naru, Asuna does have some slight differences: she among the more academically challenged of the class and doesn't hide her strengths with a double life. The double life characteristic of Naru transfers over to chisame.Most importantly this is Mahou Sensei Negima and not Love Hina.Anything can happen in this series that can be an opposite in ken amatsu's previous work.

5.Many says that asuna is the main heroine that's why she will end up to negi.It's true that many anime's main character ended up with the main heroine but like i said earlier we can't say who negi would end up with.There are some animes where the main character choose a sub-character than the main heroine.

a.) Dragonball - Bulma can be considered the main heroine ( or she really is) since she accompanied Goku in his journey in search of the dragonballs.She even made the dragon radar and gave it to Goku to make it easier for him to search the dragonballs.In one of the final episodes in Dragon Ball; Bulma can be seen having a crush on Goku when she witnesses his mature features.She's older than Goku much like asuna and negi isn't it? But Goku marries chichi who have a very little screentime and appearances.She and Goku first meet as children, and Goku promises to marry her, thinking marriage is a kind of food. Several years later, she finds him at the 23rd Tenka'ichi Budôkai, and despite confessing that he misunderstood what she had meant, Goku fulfills his promise and asks her to marry him.

b.) D.N.Angel - Daisuke have a crush on her classmate Risa Harada.He transformed into Phantom Thief Dark which has been pass down in the family of niwa whenever he experiences feelings of love or intimacy.Later on, however, he falls for Riku, Risa's twin sister, and he and Riku are now together.

6.Someone said that asuna could stick up in times of combat, strong enough to handle herself in a life or death situations. Well it's true asuna is strong and can be much stronger in other white wing members just like setsuna said but we can't say who would negi end up with just their ability.Negi's partners have a very important role and use in his journey speacially in their situation right now.Asuna and Negi can't beat Fate with the two themselves.I even think that negi's mother is just normal mage since she's not even mention in the manga or she could be asuna ^^.

7. She's an ojicon and not a shotacon.^_^

8.In the OVA Haru ,Asuna and Negi got a fight after negi say asuna doesn't have anything to do on him. It's the same thing in the manga with just a little change in some situation.In the OVA Natsu, Nodoka and Negi got tied in a red string that nodoka and yue mistaken as a spell that will show the person ended up with your own string. EH? It's not on the manga isn't it?Then this OVA is filler that shows negi and nodoka together for a day.I wonder why? For fanservice? If so then the anime team and ken amatsu know that there's much more negi-nodoka than negi-asuna? I even notice that there are fillers in the anime Negima! that show nodoka's feelings for negi. Just like how she has been potrayed having fear on men.She even got been save by negi from falling in the stairs TWO times.Unlike in the manga, she saw the picture message yuuna send to asuna when they mistaken that negi and konoka dates.There's also many more that makes me a shipper from asuna-negi to nodoka-negi.I believe the anime team won't do something that would be againts ken amatsu's own work right? They also sure ask for amatsu's approval first before making the fillers right?

I'm not really saying there's no chance for asuna to be negi's very important and special person.What i think and say now is based on reading the manga and watch the anime.I'm not ken amatasu and i don't really know what he's thinking or his plan for his manga and so are you guys.If asuna and negi would be really end up together, i guess i just be dissapointed.

There is a slight possibility it may be Kuu Fei. It would be an interesting twist that Kuu Fei being Chao's best friend is actually her ancestor.

But I'm going for Asuna. Don't see how they look like now. See how they look like in 5 years.

Or maybe Kuu Fei's daughter or son marries Negi's son or daughter, which then gives birth to Chao....
