Optimizing images for the web
This is a rather simple tutorial, but i know it will definitely help ryo

. Optimizing for web, basically is compressing images and using websafe colors. I'll use an image i made in a 3d modelling program many many years ago(lightwave).
1.- Basically open whichever image you want to optimize and then click click on
File->Save for Web and Devices
2.- A screen should popup showing you a couple of tabs. Original, Optmiized, 2-up, 4-up
- Original: This is your original uncompressed image
Optimized: Obviously, its the preview of the optimized picture
2-up: a split screen showing you the original and optimized side by side
4-up: Quad view of the original plus 3 other views of 3 different optimization settings. You can click on each preview window for custom settings
3.- On the right there you have a couple of preset options to optimize. If its a semi big picture (without transparency), recommended settings are Jpeg - medium. If you're using smallish images with not so many colors, the recommended setting is .gif. If you're handling lots of colors and transparency, well the recommended format is PNG. Once you select which type of format you'll export too, you can mess around with the options.
At the bottom of each window, you can see their filesizes, you'll see you can SAVE a lot of space without losing quality at all (or barely). Use this option ryo, use it now !
original

Optimized
