.45s are a pain to control IMO... unless you've really practiced, don't even try using it for long range targeting >_>

There are lighter loads available...
I have heared 180 grain loads are relativly pleasant to shoot.

Well, anyways, there are 1911s in 9mm and Glocks in .45, so you do have choices/

Glocks in my opinion are fairly ugly.

You lost me.
I meant that you can load a 1911 wiht less powerful rounds, like using an 180 grain bullet vs. the standard 230 grain bullet. Less bullet wight=less recoil.
