but glasses don't always mean short-sightedness, mind... there's long sight and corrective lenses too

I have a theory; I think that part of my 20/80 wasn't just staring at a screen all day, but staring at a 60Hz refresh rate screen all day. 60Hz is painful x_x

Yes, but the majority of glasses are to correct aging eye lenses and nearsightedness.

I've only known one person who had farsightedness glasses.... >_>

Yeah I do. Without them I'm blind, not really they are for reading tho. I am a bit nearsighted.

But then again, glasses have been convenient - somebody asks me to see something, and i take my glasses off and say I can't see anything.

Nelson did something similar. He said "I see no ships!" when he raised his telescope to his bad eye...

Of course, glasses are a boon and a burden. They can be very tiresome, and envy isn't usually far from my mind. But then I think how much I've enjoyed them, what they've done for me, and where I'd be without them... and I love 'em

Yep, I do. But I don't mind, I've actually been told I look better with glasses.

I wear glasses for looking at things far away, but lately I haven't been taking them off to read etc anyway *shrugs*
I've been told I look better without them- so I take them off sometimes. I don't know why, but i get embarrassed being seen without them on ^_^;;
