Otohime....
is a CHRISTIAN !!!
Please note that this is a nonsense thread where I shall attempt to, legitimately, prove Mutsumi's christendom 1. She never took part in the Saiyuki in Episode 5 (Kananko doesn't count; she's Kei's sister) 2. She and her mother always ear the suits of The Guardians of Okinawa, The Sacred Lions ! This mays eem irrelevant, BUT, the symbol of St. Mark, the first book of the New Testmanet, is the Lion (Luke is the Ox, Matthew the Man, and John the Eagle). WHy the Lion ? Because the Lion represents Christs's Ressurection, and with that, the triumphant roar, typical of the lion that makes it's presence know. Of course.... it has to argued that it could also be that the Okinawan Lions are the Japanese variation of the famous Chinese Lion dances..... but they never did any real lion dances in Love Hina (as of yet) 3. Mutsumi has the abilty to ressurect ! Well, more like that she comes out of the near-death stasis... but signalling the lion imagery and Saint Mark.... 4. Mustumi is often portrayed as an unusually divine and holy character. In Episode 3, there was one scene where she faints, is near death, and two angels appear, crying "HALLELUJAH !!" Very CHristian. If you remember her appearance at the temple in Episode 7, she appeared like a Boddhisattva to Motoko. 5. She drinks a lot of beer. [Stereotype snipped by BobCat] 6. The false wedding she jhad with Keitaro in Episode 10 is so Christian. Alright, so Christian traditions have influenced Japanese society, which means Otohime may not necessarily be a CHristian... 7. But if I'm not wrong, there was a Christian mission in Okinawa, more notably by the Jesuits. ~ Alright, so maybe it's just weird... but, noting her unusual appearance out of every other member of the Love Hina, I can imagine every member of Love Hina as a Buddhist, but Mutsumi as the only non-Buddhist (save Kaolla), and Otohime being the lone Christian. Then again, maybe everyone except Motoko is a Christian (it was never specified) Ah heck; it's fun to speculate anyway. ~ You cna go ahead and support or counter my stand. Or you can pay attention to the fact that a Parrarakelse jug was found on Okinawa.....

I know... if only we could know..... I suppose it was better though (better for Love Hina not to mention too much about religion)

Drinking lots of beer is not exactly a sign of Christendom. In fact, one could argue against it, as many Christian churches prohibit drinking of alcohol.
Let's keep the stereotyping down, eh? I'm not cool about religion bashing or the stereotyping of people. Now, to add my two cents: I seriously doubt any of the hinata girls were Christian. Christianity is a minority religion (< 10% of population) and thus the odds that they're Christian is quite low. One could make a better argument that Naru was Christian because she wore that cross and wore a rosary in LHA but it would be insufficient since secular society has the wearing of those items as a secular trend. I believe there are Christian symbols mainly because of an attempt to make Love Hina more likeable by American audiences (who tend to be Christians) |

......I´ll try to not make this too hot.....
1) Saiyuki?....more details please If you are referring to volume 5 of the manga then it is no surprise she didn´t take part......she was in Okinawa!2)Always wear the suits? They use them.....2 or maybe three times......and there are guardian lions there ,yes, but I doubt they have anything with christianity to do! 3)People perform CPR on her, then she comes out........ 4)Angels exist in other religions too.......the "hallelujah" part is probably just the translator.....as for the Boddhisattva part.....that was Mutsumis soul leaving her body,of course someone with as keen senses as Motoko would be surprised to feel and see this......this is also the first time Motoko is close up when Mutsumi kisses death......and also....where the f*** does christianity come in here? 5) ![]() 6)You pretty much answered this yourself.. 7)....so?......
