Going over a thread, which is now closed, I saw a post which offended me greatly. And it involved me personally. This is in RED so you should pay attention even more than you normally do.

An unamed Person has taken the purpose of this thread (To end language wars because they're annoying), and ran with it.

Pepe created that thread to gain people to fight in the war, if you read the first post of the Hispanic alliance it clearly states that it was made for war. Thus their was no derailing no race baiting and no racisim occuring. As it was made to fight in the war and thus open to attack.

Have I mentioned made for war atleast 3 times so I hope that clears up any problems.

BUT one thing i have trouble with is the use of other languages in threads of the main forum, i think it's a lack of respect towards people who can't read it (unless it's specified in the title of the thread).

That I agree with.

It is one thing to speak a foreign language to those who understand it (the intent is to communicate) but to speak a foreign language to one who doesn't (the intent is not to communicate, but to hide something from the one being talked to, usually an insult of some kind)

Well... Speaking a foriegn language TO someone who doesnt speak that language is just plain dumb...
It wouldnt even be to hide anything... As one would say something they want hidden TO that person, even if it WAS in a different language. Perhaps speaking in a different language AROUND someone, like as if it were a code, would seem more practical.

But, in a public forum where the primary language is English... It would be stupid to speak anything else. Except maybe Japanese, mostly as practice, since the subject of this forum is mostly Japanese oriented things.
Besides... So far, it seems that not many people know much Japanese around here. =P

Alright, I'm tiered of hearing "oh well, it was supposed to make animeb fun, it's not supposed to offend people..." et cetera. Point being, people ARE offended by it. It doesn't matter if intentions were good, people are getting really tiered of it and there have been some that have been offended.

The funniest thing is, while some people still whine about it all the time, the war has just reduced to a bit of random attacks by now. But yeah, some people need to stay out of certain threads if they can't tell between people being serious and not
