Do You Know How to Take the Garbage Out?
I work in a big retail store - Office Depot (Viking Direct if you live in Europe). Sometimes I feel as if I'm the only one that really cares about the job that they do (well, except for management, that's different). Like for instance last night. I had Thursday off per usual and I can in Friday afternoon and went straight for the breakroom to put my purse and DS in my locker.
When I opened the breakroom door I was completly appaled by the mess that greated me there. The trashcan in the corner had overflowed onto the floor, the tables were covered in garbage, and the computer desk was littered with napkins and tissues (some of them used, might I add). What really got to my was the trash can. Now, I've harped on people before that when they see a trashcan full, empty it. When I clocked in, I went straight up front to the copy center that I work in and asked who closed last night. I wasn't suprised to find it was the laziest son of a polar bear that I'd ever met. But I quickly found out that he had also passed his closing duties (Which involved taking the trash out, among many things he clearly didn't do) onto another fine specimen of man. When this man came in, I glared at him, but I bid my time. Later that evening, a manager came in that actually cares that I"M The one that has to deal with the mess made. Over our walkie talkies, he scolded everyone for leaving the breakroom in the disasterous mess it was and called for everyone to apologize. There were 6 people on last night. One apologized. I sighed.... ANd now, to the poll question. After the store closed, I went back to the breakroom to tackle this mess. To my suprise, the guy who was asked to take the trash out was back there. I called him on it, and he said HE DIDN"T KNOW HOW TO TAKE THE TRASH OUT. WHAT??? Do you have maids, a personal servant? He laughed and said "pretty much" It infuriated me that he wouldn't even let me show him how. What's next? This broom doesn't sweep?

Yeah I know how...
 I even know how to segregate biodegradable from non-biodegradable!  Then again, it is own of my duties here at home...

Well, sanitation is one of the primary duties of a custodian, among others. Making sure the building's doors are unlocked is another, and also moving furniture and making minor repairs too. We don't do our jobs, and no one can get into the building, move around, or have a clean working environment.
Everyone who works in the building is important, no matter their functions. if no one does their jobs then the grease moving the machinery (to use a colloquialism) starts to grind slowly to a halt. Sounds like laziness to me too  . It also seems like some people will be looking for other jobs before too long  .

i work at a grocery store and i'm greeted by trash bags that rip on me. one time my pants got staind because a trash bag ripped on me. i was mad

i know how you feel momo. i used to work in a starbuck. i was the ONLY one who took out the trash it seemed. compiled that with a bunch of wet and sticky drinks, and its unpleasant. very unpleasant.

i polled no.. only because that was the funniest thing ive heard in awhile.... >.<... my brothers use the same excuse.... in which case i take the trash out of the can and put it on their beds and tell them to figure it out... >.<... im sorry that happened to you though momo..
