Don't gut it too much.
![]() As far as the *'s. That isn't always true. I have a character that started out in role-play with me using ~*'s to describe my actions. Like so. ~*she grumbled*~ But, instead, I played her for over four years in that fashion, in a series of ongoing role-plays. Yeah.. I was in role-play that lasted for four years. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I finally retired her, because I left those particular realms. If you knew what I'd gone through there, you'd understand why. I know I sound like some 'all-knowing' voice of RP experience when I say that.. but for cripes sake, I stopped playing there back in.. 02? 03? x'D Five years ago. Edit: Back on topic though, If anyone wants my opinions on anything (I know they're so valuable. I'm checking back in on the forum every few hours, in some strange semblance of me trying to be active on forum. I can't explain why, I just.. am. Last edited by Dischord; 20 Mar 2008 at 4:15 pm.. |

10. First roleplay was one for "Bionicles", a lego toy. Horrid characters, terrible kid on the internet. Stayed on it as best I could, and through a long, long series of RPs and other sites, I became what I am today. GOD OF THE INTERNET.
I've been RPing now for 6 years though. But I still started earlier than you, age wise. Therefore, I win.

Actually, you don't. I started writing stories when I was 7. I started role-playing at 11 because that's when we had a computer with internet access. I'm 25 now. That's a good 14 years under my belt. =D
As far as being 'on topic', a hard set of rules is difficult to lay down. Mostly because each role-play has its own allowances. In some role-plays, people have the ability of Foresight, which allow the 'Cleo' complex, where you can glimpse ahead and be aware of what's going to happen before it does. You can't ever make a set number of rules. Each set of rules may or may not vary from RP to RP. I suggest coming up with a flexible set of basic rules. What do you allow, what don't you allow. Do you want only paragraph/story format role-playing, or do you want something different? It all depends on the restrictions you're going to put up. But also remember to allow the creators of a role-play the freedom to add, and remove some rules as they find it necessary. If I make a role-play full of psychics, and you tell me that my character with the power to see into the future, can't do so, I'm going to be peeved. (A good example of this type of role-play is Weiß Kreuz, as psychics are what make up Schwarz, the villain group.) |

Well of course all rp's will be different with a different standard of what is 'acceptable' and what is not. But a basic guideline on things like GMing and such is what I'm focusing on
![]() Or Juggling with as I do several things at once ![]()
