Chapter One: Begining Jounrey, and a new revival

Nan-Tsu Tomoro stood in his room, overlooking what he had set out. He had laid out various things he would need for his journey that he knew he must now take.

Foods, tools, a medkit, several bags filled with herbal remedies, a few of his spell books he hadnt memorized yet.

Slowly putting it all into his bag, he took a final look around his room. It was sparsely decorated, as hed never felt like changing it much. There were a few pictures his mother, Arya Misa Tomoro, had painted for him and his father.

His father... that was why he was setting out in the first place. He wasnt going alone, since he had his new friend Zac leading him to where he had found his father.

For a moment, he thought back to the day Zac had proposed it, remebering it in great detail.

Nan-Tsu had been leaving one of his classes when he noticed the man named Zacadia coming towards him. He had arrived a week earlier, and seemed to be a friend of the head mage Tonkeraska. No one knew hwy he was here, but Nan-Tsu, for some unknown reason, felt something familiar about him.

He had been about to turn around, when he saw his teacher, who was conversing with Zacadia, point his finger towards himself, who then nodded and came over towards him.

A little curious, Nan-Tsu waited for the man to come over, then bowed and said

"Good Day Mr.Zacadia. Is there something you require of me?" He asked, a bit puzzled at why he was over here in the first place.

Zac walked over to the young man with a smile on his face, "Heh, just call me Zac and no need to be so formal" He said with a laugh as he stopped and looked at him with a quick look of shock passing over his face, "Jeez, except for your hair you could pass as your father!" His smile returning he turned and looked towards the exit, "We have things to discuss, care to join me for a bite to eat?" He said looking at Nan-Tsu, "My treat!"

"Sorry Mr.. I mean Zac," but it took him a moment to have the other part sink into his skull. Eyes going wide, he said "You knew my father?!", as he was genlty lead down the steps of the academy.

Zac looked warmly at the son of his friend, "Yes, I knew your father, good man and one heck of a magic user" He said remembering his duel with Josun, as he was walking he pulled his right arm from underneath his traveling mantle and pointed to a burn scar on his wrist, "Your an intelligent boy, can you tell me why this is an odd injury for me to have?" He asked looking Nan-Tsu and miraculously weaving through the crowd of people that had just walked by.

Nan-Tsu thought carefully, but couldnt think of any reason why it was an unusuall scar.

But, he wasnt really interested in that. He had met only a few people who knew his father, and most of them knew him only a tiny bit.

"How did you know my father?" He asked, curiousity.

Zac slid his arm back under his mantle and looked at Nan-Tsu, "This scar is a part of what I know about your father" He said looking up towards the sky, "I am a Fire Magi as well as a swordman, to inflict a burn on a fire magi is almost unheard of, yet your father was able to do it. He was also a kind man, even under the influence of his immense power and given several opportunities to end my life, he didn't."

Zac brought his gaze back to earth and continued, his face taking a more serious tone, "I also know that your father didn't leave you or your mother of his own accord..." He said in a somber tone.

Nan-Tsu smiled. His mother had told him stories of his fathers adventures. Several of them had seemed farfetched when he was younger, but it wasnt like that anymore.

"Wait... My mom told me a while back that someone had come and told her how my father had died. Was that you?" He wondered why, if he was, he was here. What did he want with him?

"Yes, that was me" Zac said as he looked at Nan-Tsu, his face was like an open book and as such Zac was able to tell what he was thinking, "Your wondering why I'm here aren't you?" He said plainly as he stopped in his tracks, "Well, to put it simply I have something to tell you and something to give you, so let's start with the latter shall we" He said as his omnipresent smile returned to his face.

After a few seconds of rummaging around the pockets hidden inside his mantle, he drew an seemingly plain staff from its depths and presented it to Nan-Tsu, "Consider this a present from your father, this staff is your birthright, as are the secrets it holds" He said as he handed it to the young boy, "As for what I have to tell you... again, to put it simply, the person who killed your father is no longer anonymous."

A forest stands over the desolated village from years ago. In the heart of this forest holds a small black rose. It holds one last black petal and soon the wind blows it off. The flower shrivels and dies and the ground starts being unearthed. A tentacle slithers out and 3 more follow it out. They spread themselves out around the hole they made and harden up. They form into sharp sickle legs and pull something out from where they are attached to. A giant dark crystal comes out of the ground and starts to crack. It shatters and a girl falls out of her confinement. The girl is naked and has very long hair.

Koyuki rises and looks at where she is and sends out 20 of her tentacles around the forest to inspect the area. When they finish they return back into her body and 3 wrap themselves around her. These tentacles slowly form into soft cloth and form her clothes. She pulls out her katana and cuts her hair very short, neck length above the shoulders. She changes it from her last hairstyle, and finishes up by making a red headband out of her tentacle and slides it on. She looks at her burial one last time before she goes out of the forest into the changed world. She has been asleep for quite a long time and needs something refreshing to regain her energy. She wraps herself in her cloak and departs.

She travels out of the forest and searches for the nearest inhabited area. She travels for days but there seems to be no human life to find. She finally finds a city and goes in but she is too tired. She already spent a lot of energy recovering from the toxic and holding herself in a hibernating state. Now she has used up what energy she has left to find someone to regain her strength. Before she could do anything in this village, she passes out.

Around the side a young boy finds Koyuki lying on the ground. The boy runs home for help...

Nan-Tsu stared at the staff in his hands. The magical spirit it posessed pulsed, almost glad to be in the hands of something familiar. His fathers staff...

..then he heard the last part. "My father was murdered?!" He hadnt been told by his mother what had happened to him, merely that he wasnt coming back.

Nan-Tsu looked up into Zacs face. "Tell me everything you know."

Nan-Tsu had finished packing, and slung the bag over his shoulder. In his other hand, he carried his fathers staff. When he had come home with it, he hadnt shown his mother. Only the day before he was leaving did he show it to her to explain why he was leaving.

When he had gone to sleep that night, he had had a dream of the person who killed his father awakening again, but wasnt sure if it was a vision, or merelly a dream from his worry for what was ahead.

Going down the stairs, he saw his mother painting a new picture. It was a pciture of his father. She had a few of them, but she rarely had them out.

Turning away from the painting, tears stingning her face, she grabbed Nan-Tsu in the tightest embrace he had ever been given. He heard her whisper "Come home my little boy, make sure you come home."

Tears stinging his own eyes he nodded, then left through the front door, where he found Zac waiting for him.

"Im ready Zac." He said, doing his best to prepare himself for the coming journey.

(note Zac, you can do a bit more stuff involving the flashback before you return to the present.)

"Everything I know, Huh?" Zac said questioningly as he raised a hand to his chin thoughtfully, "Well, so far I've got a name and some info" He finished as he began to walk again. "Her name is Koyuki Azumaya" He said as he looked at Nan-Tsu whom he expected would be shocked that a woman would have killed his father, "And no, she is not exactly a she, Koyuki is a demoness and a powerful one at that"

He once again stopped, this time pulling open the curtain to a high end restaurant before addressing Nan-Tsu once more, "The true reason I'm here, is because you and me have more in common than you think" He said as he walked to a table and sat down, "That and I wish someone had offered me what I'm about to offer you, if you want to accompany me in finding your father's murderer, your more than welcome to" He said smiling as a waitress came over to their table, "But for now, let's eat!"

Zac stood in the doorway of the Tomoro residence as Nan-Tsu got his things together, he knew this was a trying moment in the young man's life and rushing things wasn't going to get him anywhere. Almost as silently as the wind itself, Nan-Tsu's mother appeared next to him, "You know what will happen to you if he is harmed" she said simply as Zac stared off into the horizon.

"Honestly, if it comes to that, there probably won't be enough left of me to work with" He said almost chuckling at the thought, "But in all seriousness, so long as I draw breath, I'll make sure he gets home." He knew she had gone back to painting though he never heard her leave and soon the sound of footsteps alerted him to Nan-Tsu's presence as he heard him tell him he was ready, "You all set? Alright, let's set off then!" He said with his trademark smile flashing wider than ever.

Koyuki wakes up and feels a little bit dizzy. She examines her surrounding and sees that it’s pitch black. She realizes she is in a bed and her clothes have been changed too. The lights turn on and a man walks in. He is fairly young, prob in his early 20s.

The man greets, “Well nice to see that you’re awake. You have been out for 3 days.”

Koyuki just sits there and stares at this man.

“ My little brother found you outside the other day. He told me some girl passed out in front of our house. Even though my family dislikes bringing in strangers, I couldn’t help myself to leave you outside. Your clothes were pretty dirty so if you don’t mind, I changed your clothes into one of my sister’s spare pajamas.”

Koyuki looks beneath the blanket sheet she was under and starts to blush.

“Well I would like to know you name and what happened to you out there?”

Koykui replies back, “Thank you for your hospitality. My name is Koyuki Azumaya. To tell you the truth I don’t remember much that has happened recently. It would also seem I have been a burden for you. I think I will need to leave soon.”

The man says, “Hold on. If you don’t remember anything then you should stay here for a few more days. Don’t worry my family doesn’t mind having you stay her a few more days.”

K: “If it is alright with you then I thank you again.”

He smiles and begins to leave the room but before he closes the door he says, “Also if you need any help just call my name, it’s Sato.”

Koyuki is left alone in the room and she starts thinking to herself. What she just said to the man was the real truth. She really doesn’t remember anything at the current moment. Her last memories she holds is that dark day that changed her life, the one that pained her so deeply. She sighs and lies back down and tries to rest again.

They first took a train towards the area in which Josun had fought the demon. The countryside was filled with a rolling fog, which Nan-Tsu had the feeling that it had to do with somehting has father had done.

"Was this area always so foggy?" He asked, as the train finally stopped at their stop. He made sure to grab his stuff and the staff.

[RDKnightZac]

"Not always, this fog has an ethereal quality to it" Zac said as he stood up and walked off of the train with Nan-Tsu in tow, "This is known as Spirit Fog" Zac said as he waved his hand through the mist. "It is in these few places that the spirits of those who have since passed have the energy to commune with the living, it's one of the reason's I brought you here" He said as he traveled forward into the thick fog.

"There's more than likely a clue or two around here as to Koyuki's current whereabouts, but more importantly, there's a few things I think your dad needs to discuss with you personally." He said as he beckoned for Nan-Tsu to follow.

Koyuki wakes up again and sees it is morning. She peeks out of her room to see what's going on. Nobody seems to be outsid so she comes out and starts walking around in the living room. She sees a portrait of the family and stares at it. She analyzes it and sees how happy the family seems to be, in her heart she aches. She notices another's presence and turns around to see Sato.

Sato: "well you're up and early. I hope you are feeling better. Have you remembered anything yet?"

Koyuki looks at him and shakes her ehad, "No, I haven't remembered much yet."

Sato: "Well no use in jsut standing here doing nothing then. Let's eat some breakfast first and I'll take you out to go see if we can find any clues about you. First things first, what would you like to eat?"

Koyuki: "I'm sorry but I don't really have an appetite."

Sato: "you sure? It's not good to start a day without anybreakfast."

K: "i'm fine."

Sato: "Ok suit yourself."

Sato goes and sits down and starts making some eggs and toast. Koyuki jsut sits aside on their couch and tilts her ehad as she watches the man. When Sato finishes he takes Koyuki into Sato's sister's room to get ehr some clothes to wear.

S: "I think this should look nicely on you."

K: "You sure it's ok that I do this?"

S: "Don't worry my sister isn't ehre now. She's out fo teh country working."

Nan-Tsu wondred a little at what he meant by that, but followed anyways.

He wondered where the women who killed his father was.

Probally off killing others he thought to himself, when Zac stopped.

"What is it?" He asked cautiously, holding his staff loosely in his hand.

[RDKnightZac]

"Oh nothing to be worried about" Zac said as he drew his sword from it's sheath and began to poke the ground with it, eventually finding a softer patch of earth, "Ah, here it is" He said cheerfully as he began to spin his sword until it burst into flames. As the flames began to die away, the sword could no longer be seen, yet a staff eerily similar to the one Nan-Tsu was holding was now clutched in Zac's hand.

Jamming the tip of the staff into the soft patch of earth, he muttered a few quick words before speaking in an audible tone, "Okay old friend, there's a certain person who wants a word with you" He said as a spectral figure slowly began to rise from the earth, his apperance was almost that of Nan-Tsu, if not for the blonde hair with silver and green streaks, "Maybe you could inform us as to the circumstances behind your death as well as give us a little more insight concerning this Koyuki character."
