Dark Schneider vs. Evangeline Shinso Chan -MB Title Match Pt. 5-

A torch lights up in the inky darkness of the night... then a ring of torches follows suit, followed by an inner ring. Those two rings of torches was the arena where the Motoko Brigade matches are held... tonight the second of a doubleheader match was about to start...

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen" pierced the darkness, seemingly coming from nowhere. The last torch to be it catches fire, as Z-Udgey appears under the light of the last torch.

"This is the second of the two matches held today - as you know, (to be announced) won the morning match earlier today - who shall win this one?"

Two figures had already taken to the arena - one of them had white hair, a cape, and various metal spikes located on his own sort of special armor. Illuminated by the torchlights, a sneering sort of smile was plastered upon his face, as if bloodlust was on his mind.

On the other end of the arena, another kind of bloodlust radiated - however, that was coming from a vampire. She looked the part too - blond hair, vampire fangs, blood-red eyes, a black cape.... these were to be seen off of the full moon's light that was shining on her.

"Tonight, Dark Schneider and Shinso (respectively) will face off against one another - notice the absence of any special playing field." Indeed, compared to the other matches, the field was just plain sheetrock. "Either competitor can use the field to his or her advantage."

"And now.. HEAVEN OR HELL? FIGHT!!"

This spell causes all moisture near the earth's surface to instantly freeze, causing jagged pillars of ice to jut up from the ground. If not dodged effectively, the opponent's feet will be likewise frozen to the spot, immobilizing them. Evangeline used this spell against Negi to knock him out of the air during their fight, the ice pillars being a navigation hazard to low-flying objects.

Magic Boost and Barriers

While not an actual spell, most mages and magical beings use their magic to augment their physical abilities and for protection. For example, the ten-year-old Negi is, with the help of his magic, slightly more physically capable than a normal adult male. Mages can also increase this boost deliberately, for protection or to increase combat abilities, if a combat mage. Negi has discovered two methods of doing this. The first is by essentially invoking a pactio with himself, giving himself a timed boost of energy. The second is with a spell called Cantus Bellax. The first method, however, causes physical pain after a few seconds of use, therefore is not recommended.

Most mages have a low-level barrier that protects them against physical blows, letting only a fraction of the force behind them pass through to strike the mage. This barrier is not a perfect defense, as it can be worn down by repeated blows, or can be broken by a spell as a prelude to an attack. In addition, some people are capable of breaking or bypassing barriers altogether. Asuna Kagurazaka (in various situations - see Magic Canceller below) and Chizuru Naba (when striking a demon with her hand) have both been shown capable of getting past barriers, often completely by accident.

In addition, a popular form of barrier is an area-effect shield used to prevent mundanes from getting in an area where mages battle or otherwise conduct business in the open. This barrier works to mask sound, to prevent overhearing, and causes a desire of anyone outside the barrier to want to leave the area. This is more of a suggestion than outright mental control, as a person can choose to fight the feeling if they are aware of it. It also seems to be very specific to living humans, as a ghost appears to be completely unaffected by the spell. It is possible for someone unaffected to persuade someone who is to pass the barrier.



Magic Canceller

Magic Canceller is an ability that completely nullifies magic. Certain magic cast or used on a person with this ability has no effect. However, not all types of magic are nullified. Magic that harms the person is stopped, while magic that helps the person is not. It is unclear how one gets this ability, as is it rare. The only person known to have this ability is Asuna, which may have something to do with her and the Thousand Master, Nagi Springfield. In the anime storyline, she received the ability as the result of a pact with a demon. However, Chizuru was able to actually hurt Graf Wilhelm when she slapped him in volume 8, suggesting that she may have a similar ability.

Magical Canceller does not explain events, such as Asuna not being able to protect herself from Fate's magically produced monster. A possible explanation for this is that magical spells are stopped by magic neutralization but they do not stop physical attacks, so even if the attacker is a demon, monster or a person powered by magic any attack that is physical like punching, kicking or using a weapon will not be stopped.

Asuna's weapon is generally a harisen. When Asuna mentions it, a flustered Chamo says that on the card is written "Hamanotsurugi" (which means Demon Banishing Blade). Her ability to banish demons and onmyou monsters in one hit is due to her weapon, not her magic canceling abilities.

The use of love potions with Magic Canceller is not entirely understood. If another person drinks a love potion that causes anyone who sees them to be affected, a person with Magic Canceller would not be affected. However, if someone with Magic Canceller were to drink a love potion that causes them to fall in love with the first person they see, they will be affected. An example is in chapter 54 when Asuna accidentally ate a chocolate that contained such a love potion; fans were confused because Asuna was falling in love with Negi even though she had Magic Canceller. Likely, the potion bypassed cancellation through her eating of it, while the previous potion was an effect coming from the person who drank it.

Possible explanations have been offered for various seeming discrepancies. If Magic Canceller is a protective field that surrounds its source, it would ideally be able to hold out any foreign influence trying to enter said source. Also, the source might use it as an augment to physical attacks, allowing it to batter through magical fields, such as Asuna has been seen to do to Evangeline several times, kicking her despite the presence of Eva's defensive shield magic. Any influence working out from the inside, such as a love potion ingested or essence of a Magi absorbed through a kiss or exchange of blood, would not be affected however. Most recently, Asuna was able to break open a "100% Unbreakable Seal" placed on a box by Magic Police, suggesting that her Magic-Canceler ability may behave much like Superman's tactile telekinesis. It would theoretically allow her to be impervious to magic directed at her, and also allow her to nullify any magic that she touches.

Count Herrmann's ability to usurp Asuna's Magic Canceller-ability by placing a charm on her seems to indicate that this power has a radius of effect; any power that is already within the radius is apparently able to do its work unopposed. Alternatively, it is possible the Magic Canceller-field is only set to protect its source, not itself.

Dark Schneider grinned as he brought his hands together, "RAVEN, FLIGHT OF THE MOUNTAIN WIND!!!" He cried as the winds around him gathered and gave him the power of flight. Heading up, he grinned at Shinso. "Damn your a quick one, but allow me to show you something fun ya dope!!" he laughed as he raised his arm before him.

"FIERY POWER, BLAST OF THE DAMNED!!!!" he cried as a massive explosion was unleashed point blank at Shinso's ice, which caused the shards of ice to fly everywhere point-blank at Shinso, dangerous shards of ice and powerful enough to cut human flesh.

"Not bad... not bad at all..." A smile appeared on Shinso's face.... "it's long time since i had this much fun... but I'm sorry a spell with that little power cant hurt me" A little ice shard hits Shinso's barrier and breaks it"Oh.... so you were actually able to break my barrier... BOYA!"

O turning storm of spring, bestow your aerial protection upon us! Blow Forth, Wall of Churning Wind! A tornado appears around Shinso and blows all the ice shards away.

Come, spirits of air and lightning, O southern storm which blows with lightning! Jupiter's Storm of Thunder!
The tornado suddently begins to take a smaller form as a sphere. "Prepare to die" The sphere explodes with a massive power and a ray of wind and thunder shoots towards Dark Schneider "This was almost to easy" Shinso's Evil laugh fills the arena

[Balmung]

Dark Schneider grinned as he waved his hand through the air, "FIERY WALL OF GUNS N ROSES!!!!" he yelled as a massive wall of explosions disrupted the path of the lightning. "HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!" he laughed as he grinned at Shinso. "Such laughter is reserved for the HERO DAMMIT!!" He said as he ran his hands through his hair. "These Looks, this Charisma, this incredible power....Ye gods why have you cursed me with such a fate?" he asked the heavens as he completely ignored Shinso.

[Tyroki]

A little girl sat on a large rock, her little fox tail swaying back and forth, her ears pricked up as she listened to the sound of the combatants. Using a little bit of Fox Magic to enhance and alter her voice, she shouted loud and clear "A SPECTATOR APPEARS! Lets add an epic beat!" With that she closed her mind and quickly imagined the theme she wanted to play. When she knew what she wanted, she opened her hand and a small ball of light flew up into the sky before becoming the image of a sort of speaker, and released a beat for the combatants to fight to.

And thus, an Epic Beat was played!

Shinso begins to chant again: I summon the spirits of 17 deadly Valkyries. Go forth and capture!
"Now lets see how you melee combat skills are..."

Dark Schneider crossed his arms as his laughter echoed throughout the arena, "That child has spunk! The music is very well needed for YOUR SITUATION SHINSO!!!" he yelled with a grin as he turned to Shinso. Suddenly, a blade flew down from the sky into his outstretched hand. "MY MASTER!!" The blade cried as the image of a gigantic demon with flaming wings appeared behind D.S. and held out it arms, as if protecting it's master. "YOUR SERVANT EFREET HAS COME!! ALLOW ME TO SERVE YOU MY MASTER!!!"

"LETS GO!!" DS cried as he sliced through the Valkyries one by one, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! NO ONE CAN DEFEAT DARK SCHNEIDER!!!" He cried in a condescending voice as he sliced through another Valkyrie.

[Captain Renji Sparrow]

The son of Korban and Leeloo Dallas sat right next to Tyroki, shaking his head.
This fight was going to go badly.
With Eva-chan, who he was good friends with, acting seriously, as she usually did, but had bloodlust on her mind, and Dark S-man, who Ratt was just getting to know, acting like the brainless, lust-filled, rougeish, brawny, and vainly idiotic Hero, this fight was REALLY going to end badly.
Ratt was 15 years old. He was lean and musclar, with redish-yellowish-orangeish hair that was in a buzz cut and had a huge ponytail in the back; baby-blue eyes; lightly-tanned skin; a sharp, pointed chin; a huge Viking beard with small skulls, bones, and different ornaments tied in it; and a huge tattoo of the Five Elements on his right arm in their colors. He had a small necklace that had an ancient blessed Divine amulent of the skull of KozKuKithe before he Fell and Died in battle against his old brothers and sisters.
This amulent let Ratt transform into a Lich of tremendous power. That's it.
anyway, his arms had special Multi-Purpose Weapon Wristbands that was a symbol that Ratt was a offical Commando of the Federation.
Anyway, he sat nd watched the fight. Whoever won, he was going to try to recruit into his newest squadron, Delta Squad.
But until then, or until Mangalores attacked the Arena, he would remain in the stands, just shaking his head and sighing.

Crystal and Darkness suddently begins to surround DS's body It's cold as ice and starts to freeze him. His left leg are already covered with crystal up until his knees.

Shinso doesn't pay attention to what happening around her. The magic power around her increases each second. Its only a matter of few second before the spell is finished...

D.S. laughed as he cut through another enemy as he turned and noticed Shinso casting a spell. Holding out his am, DS yelled, "NOT YET YOU WONT!!!" and began too chant. "Kiske, Hansen, Gosskopf, Sielck...WISE MEN OF HADES, ALL!!!! HOLD FAST THE SEVEN KEYS...SWING WIDE THE GATES OF HELL!!!" As he began to finish the spell, one of the Valkyries cut at his arm. "ARGGGHHHH!!!" He yelled at the blade deep in his arm. "NOOO, I can't complete the spell like this!!" he cried as his arm began to inflate.

As the arm inflated, the Valkyrie completely severed the arm from his body. Falling, the arm landed to the ground behind Shinso, the wound pouring bright red blood. Yelling, DS raised his blade and cut the Valkyrie in two, as his hand released the blade allowing it to fall on the ground.

The over grown arm behind Shinso began to shake slightly as it started to bulge. Twitching slightly, the arm exploded to form into the body of an unclothed Dark Schneider who stood grinning, his hands gathering a ball of explosive magical power. "Fooled yeah!" He said with a grin as he began to complete his chant.

Raising his head up in triumph as the Moon glowed down upon them, Dark Schneider laughed as he raised his right hand full of the magical energy.
"HELL-O-WEEN!!!!! SEVEN KEYS OF THE GATE GUARDIAN GODS!!! " he cried as a powerful wave of explosive energy akin to that of five-times the power of a nuclear explosive blasted at Shinso. It's magical properties creating a field of energy from within, causing the spell itself to flux with power.
