Shinobu Brigade Foundation
Be there one or two fan brigades, here comes a new initiative for the sake of Shinobu fandom.
The Shinobu Brigade excel at kicking those folks' butt who question the superiority of our favorite character. Her Kawaiiness' Secret Service excel at kicking Al-Hentai's butt again and again. Those sorts of activities have been scarce lately, yet I believe a call to arms could produce incredible results in the hour of need. Instead, these military and paramilitary forces have clearly lost their grip as regards creative activity. For example, image editing projects have not met success for long months. The Shinobu Brigade Foundation is a new, civilian organization within the brigade, dedicated to encouraging all cultural aspects of Shinobu fandom and keeping up constructive activity. The foundation has set its ideals at a challenging level compared to today's depression, even if it might have been modest in the past days of glory. The current requirements for membership are: 1. having produced something creative or constructive (that requires a bit of effort too) within two weeks before handing in one's application for membership 2. showing positive attitude. For example, my own demonstration of recent activity is the Shinobu Brigade War Poster published on 23rd April. My judgement is, that is a borderline case - lesser amounts of work hardly count. The definition of what is enough is subject to discussion, though. Types of accepted activity cover a wide range from creating fan art to writing fics to running information-gathering projects to scrupulously updating the brigade rosters, and further. Only those who keep it up are considered full members of the foundation. Not accomplishing anything that would suffice for reaching membership for two full calendar months leads to listing the member as inactive until (s)he returns to true activity. This goes for all members, including founders and leaders. An inactive member does not have any rank, position, or responsibilities within the foundation. Incidentally, I declare myself the temporary administrative chief of the Shinobu Brigade Foundation. Receiving and treating membership applications begins immediately - welcome activists, remember to provide links to your demonstrations of activity! The administrative system will be developed according to growth in membership, activity and other resources. I have made a yakusoku to work on this on a regular basis (a minimum of weekly 2 ½ hours) regardless of people's first reactions. Moderator support would come in handy.

If you haven't noticed, all of the Love Hina brigades have low activity. Shinobu fans haven't been driven away (unless it was by you constant negative talk), but Love Hina fans in general are decreasing somewhat.
I don't know what you're trying to defend by complaining about Kata, but as you seem to dislike the status quo so much it seems odd that you would take a conservative approach on this matter.

Ederius' last post is so close to my opinions that I will not waste energy quoting and commenting it.
Much of my foundation time this week went on a side project that could benefit all the LH brigades. I contacted some people behind the scenes to get feedback for the concept and material I had produced. No response so far... Ederius, you are the first one to show active interest in this, so I am addressing you: What are the types of fan projects you have liked the best during the history of the SB and the HKSS? Furthermore, what do you think of the idea of saving the separate SB and HKSS subforums by placing one of them under the other? (Personally, I stand for the SB being the umbrella, but it could be vice versa as well.) As regards my military rank within the SB, I am still a private (1st class) and will obey orders from above when it comes to fighting for Shinobu's sake in brigade wars and the like. But just now I am concentrating on this civilian initiative.

Until now, I have been able to keep my promise about working for the brigade. Seems to be a pretty lonely job, but I was prepared for that. It sucks to do things alone when you run out of know-how, though. Today I spent more than half an hour trying to find a certain Shinobu pic online, with no results. Well, I did find and save stuff I was not after... As usual. This week is going to be pretty tough offline. I guess I will spend most of my SBF time working on a short story, to be published on AnimeB sooner or later. Such foundation work with minimal visibility sucks, though, because it will not help others keep up their spirits before it is finished. And now, I am leaving you and hanging some washed clothes up to dry. SYATSU to kutsushita iromono wakete te mo miarai mo BACCHIRI / ROOBU o haritte sentaku BASAMI moo chotto shinchoo hashi na. (Shinobu no Tooban Nisshi.)
