[SB] What can we do to revive the Shinobu Brigade?

I suggest a merging of the two Shinobu brigades here. Neither has enough activity on its own, and frankly: why would you be a member of one and not the other?

the Shinobu Brigade is for those that love her and want to talk about her/worship her, or things like that, while the HKSS is for those that want to protect her from the bad guys.

apart from that, it wouldnt be such a bad idea, but ill ask him what he thinks bout it. after all, he founded it eh?

EDIT: BC said no, so lets just keep it this way. its not harming the place anyway, as long as nobody posts useless crap in here. furthermore he thinks itd be better if gmods/admins would focus on more important stuff than fusing brigades.

Well, it really up to the staff here. No offense to bob, but its our decision. Right now, both brigades aren't getting very much activity, so joining them would benefit both.

It would benefit them because currently neither has much activity. Putting them together combine whatever activity they do have. BC's original reason for keeping them separate is just daft, too. What's the difference between liking her and 'wanting to protect her'? You're aware she's not real, I take it? Surely anything about 'protecting' her should go in the RP or fanfic forums?

Also, you say 'we' ... but who else is actually opposed from this other than you?

I have given this more than a thought recently.

To be honest, I prefer a fan brigade to be more like a peaceful fan club, especially when it is about the most mundane and non-violent character of Love Hina. But the birth of fan brigades is tied to the brigade wars phenomenon, so the members should be ready to take up arms whenever another fan group challenges them.

We could really say that the HKSS is all about roleplaying. Most (all?) of its activity can be seen as parts or extensions of an alternate universe depicted through RP campaigns and fanfics. If so, could the HKSS really exist as a branch of the Shinobu Brigade within the RP subforum?

What makes things more complicated, some of the Shinobu Brigade activists (such as myself) enjoy using RPing or fanfics as means of creative expression. Others (such as Imperial Marine) would like to include more military elements here, too. Perhaps they have a point - that can be seen as preparing for the next brigade war, whenever that might occur. And once again we face more RP elements.

I do not think it makes any sense to try to exclude RPing and fanfics from a fan brigade. Already calling the organisation a brigade instead of a club implies a certain imaginatory, playful view.

I sincerely hope the different views could coexist, uniting Shinobu fans regardless of their preferences.

The remaining question is: what to do with the HKSS? Roleplaying or not, it does represent a very specialised approach to the world of Love Hina. What is the HKSS today? Its origin is the most prominent subgroup of the brigade. Has it grown into a separate group of Shinobu fans with a different attitude? Or is it a Love Hina gameworld exceptionally popular among Shinobu fans? Take a look at its history, you cannot deny it was a genial idea, and a very productive one for a long time.

It is a bit problematic that the HKSS is officially a subgroup of an AnimeB fan brigade but has moved its headquarters elsewhere. I think it should be cleared who are actually in charge of the groups, and then the leaders should openly negotiate new terms of subordination, cooperation, or merging. Requirements for the leaders: non-banned, indisputably active AnimeB members, approved by the groups either democratically or oligarchically but logically; the HKSS representative may need authorisation from the HKSS HQ in addition.

...I am ready to represent the Shinobu Brigade as an acting leader if need be. Our chain of command is hopelessly out of date. BobCat has been banned; Hanku Royiaki has been inactive for over two months; Kei-kun has been inactive for over two years. TSSHIN, you want to represent? T0k0l0v3r (M0t0k0l0v3r), Hishou Fushichou (Arii Maehara)? In case the leader should be elected, we must have a roll call before anything can be started.

That's not the point, dear Bal. The point is, it is jolly difficult to decide anything unless we know who we are and who is in charge.

If you take a look at the ranks listing (and keep in mind what I investigated about certain members' inactivity), our supreme commander is Sergeant Major TSSHIN, I am a private 1st class under his command, and... Bal, do you have the possibility to send PMs to an unlimited number of members, as a staff member privilege?

If we are not getting further otherwise, you could PM all members of the brigade and request them to post. The deadline should not be too strict, but those who do not react would be listed as inactive. What do you say, guys, is this too harsh a proposal?
