No offense, but I've played hockey (not in a league or anything, but I've played pickup games and I played street hockey a lot when I was a little kid). And until you've done both, you can't really say that. And you know what, figure skating is more about thinking on your feet more than choreography. There's a lot that goes on behind a 4 minute program. What if you miss the jump combination and need to put it in, what can you take out in order to do a required element. Count how many revolutions you're doing so you don't get penalties. Mentally calculate in your head your approximate score so you can see if you need that last jump to win or to save your energy for a more intense footwork sequence. We have only a few minutes on the ice, but we put just as many (if not more) hours on and off the ice than hockey players. Most hockey players that I convince to take a power class with me will agree figure skating kicks their asses like hockey doesn't. Anytime a hockey player wants to challenge me to see which is more intense, I would more than welcome the challenge IRL.

yea but comparing figure skating to hockey is a little like comparing soccer to ballet, both are tough, it's just that one is more refined and one is more rough, it is a matter of taste

BBQ season FTW!

BTW, totally off topic, but i was drinking some Boddingtons Ale while watching the game, it's pretty good.
