NBA Finals

Well we now have Game 1 aftermaths

Utah Jazz @ San Antonio Spurs: Jazz-100 Spurs-108

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Detroit Pistons: Cavs-76 Pistons-79

1 for Spurs and Pistons.

I see no reason why SA can't sweep the Jazz and I am TIRED of Rasheed Wallace. I greatly admire Billups and Hamilton, but I wish it to be time for the LeBron era!

Thoughts and forecasts for this year's finals?

Eh, i cant say i really like any of those teams (Dallas / suns ). But i guess i like the cavs a bit more than any of those, so.. go cavs . Sadly the spurs are gonna win, i think

It all comes down to AK-47 if the Jazz want to win. And the Cavs have no chance of winning. All they have is Lebron and Drew Gooden. Hanku, don't forget about Tayshaun Prince and C-Webb. C-Webb might be getting old but he still has enough in him to put up at least 20pts and Tayshaun Prince is way too underrated, ppl don't realize how good he is.

If the Spurs and Pistons go to the Finals again then the TV ratings will go down tremendously... That's how boring they would be...

I wouldn't say it would be boring. I think it would be an interesting rematch.

I agree with Hyperguy205. Both teams play way too basic. They need a player that can excite a crowd like lebron

Well then you both CLEARLY haven't been in San Antonio. It's the Spurs' Primary 3 that create SO MUCH excitment. Giniobili, Parker, and Duncan.

The series WILL be exciting, you two just don't know it.

LeBron is exciting because he's the only GREAT basketball player on the Cavs. Spurs have teh 3 I mentioned and the Pistons have 4. The Finals would be seen as a rematch of their previous Finals encounter (Spurs and Pistons). the rematch alone creates a lot of hype. Don't you guys watch ESPN?

I'm not saying that the spurs aren't a great basketball team, I'm just saying that they are boring to watch. Reasons: 1) They play way too basic. Playing basic is the key to victory and the spurs are a great team to learn from, but its the NBA. You want to see something exciting, a couple of jaw-breaking dunks here and there. 2)Ginobli and Parker are excellent guards but Tim Duncan? Hes good and all with the baby-hook but 7'0 and doesn't even power dunk. Whats exciting about that? 3)They play way too dirty. Basketball might be a dirty sport but they play way too dirty and they need to stop acting like they get fouled every time.

You can't give all the credit to Lebron for the Cavs success. Drew Gooden and Larry Hughes have been doing their share for the Cavs success.

You mentioned that the Pistons have only 4 great players. I disagree with that. I think the Pistons have a complete 5-man squad. Chauncey Billups, Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Rasheed Wallace, and C-Webb. Everyone of them can score 20pts easily. Tayshaun Prince has spectacular defense and offense. Hes obviously underrated and people don't understand how much potential he has. Now thats something they won't tell you on ESPN.

Hmm... true ESPN does lack in credit-giving somewhat.

That's also true Duncan isn't Dunc-an.....XP....but that's what makes him more interesting I think. He SHOOTS and BANKS the ball off the glass! How many players AT ALL make those shots or at little TRY them. I only see Dncan shoot those awesome banks, so I think it redeems him.

However, the Spurs aren't dirty. The Spurs are the #1 defense for a reason and anybody who complains *cough* Stoudamire*cough* is a shallow crybaby. Bowen is the League's best defender. Why? because he gets upclose and in your face when you have the ball without fouling, or at least trying not to foul. If the Spurs were dirty then we would've seen more of what Horry did to Nash or anything Dennis Rodman did with the Spurs and Bulls. Are we physical? At times yes. Is it dirty? Hells NO! It's part of the game! People complain of excitement (no offense RT) and yet they whine when they see the Spurs get physical?! Sorry folks but all this whining of the Spurs being a dirty team is a steaming pile of crap from crybabies.

PS: I DO find it tragic that the Spurs/Suns series went down the way it did. I truly do. SA didn't like it and sure as hell Phoenix didn't like it. Here's how I figure David Stern's reason as to why he HAD to suspend Stoudamire and Diaw. If he didn't suspend them, then the league would be under the suspicion of favoritism and conspiracy. If the bench-leaving rule WASN'T a rule, then they wouldn't have been suspended. Stern HAD to suspend them, or else GM's and owners and MILLIONS of NBA fans would be offended and angry at the favoritism that would've taken place. Textbook rule. It's sad and a real *****, but it had to be done.

I'm thinking SA's going to dominate based on experience.

(They managed to knock off the Lakers one year...)

I agree with you when you say that Duncan's bank shot is nice, but like I said, its way too basic. He needs to play with more finesse or power. Although his baby-hook is very nice

Ok, you convinced me on their defense being tough not dirty.

I think not only Stoudamire and Diaw, but Bell should have got suspended too.

Bell? Oh was he the one that got hit by Horry's elbow? Well if he was to be suspended, then the league probably would've suspended Horry for 1 game instead of two, because one of those two G.S.'s was because of that elbow. I personally think it was self-defense and Bell was just too short. XD

Anyway, you all watch the SA game? THAT was worth watching. SA SCHOOLED the Jazz! Even YOU have to admit RT that was a pretyt sweet game to watch....you did watch it didn't you? o_O;;

I missed it, I had to go to basketball practice. I saw the highlights though, I admit, It looked pretty good.

Bell was the one that ran up to Horry and it looked like Bell pushed him but I'm not sure.

Great game by the Spurs, the game's turnpoint was mainly in the second quarter. The Jazz only scored 17 while the Spurs scored 32. Still, I'm rooting for the Pistons on the East.

The Cavs won today 88-82 over the Pistons making the series 2-1.
Spurs have a game tomorrow, any guesses on who's gonna win? I'm going for the Jazz.
